In common with a number of people who have stayed here, I was here as part of an Intrepid tour. Arriving early I stayed one night in single room and then one night in double room. It is quite a difficult hotel to find so a bit of research before you arrive is worthwhile. Some of the reception staff do not speak English, so that caused me a few issues when checking in. The room and hotel were ok, but nothing more. Overall the hotel is tired and the hot water supply is hit and miss. There are many other properties like this in South America though so overall it's fairly average.

Stayed as part of Intrepid tour and had extra night before it started. Room seemed okay, but bathroom was dirty, although we were lucky enough to have hot water. Towels smelled not so clean and the noise from the street went on til 3am! Would not recommend, especially after long flight and before long trip with early mornings. Convenient for centre of Lima, that is the only thing going for it.

We arrived at this Hotel early in the morning and spoke to the receptionist who just waved her hand and told us to wait, we then sat for 1 1/2 hours being ignored, I then approached the receptionist again to ask if we could use the WIFI and what the password was again she waved her hand and said wait, an hour later when a different receptionist arrived we were booked into a smelly room with stained damp carpets, 2 small beds and a scruffy bathroom.

A very tired Hotel and unhelpful dishonest staff.

We left the following day, I forgot my small bag with some documents and $50 in it, our tour guide contacted them and confirmed they had found it and asked if they could post it to their office which they agreed, a week later no bag or money and I was told they would not be sending it as they were to busy, so I believe they kept it and that in any country is dishonest.

Room Tip: try a different hotel

I regret not sleeping in my clothes on top of the sheets. Stayed here because it was part of Intrepid's tour. I seriously did not want to stay here after reading all the negative reviews. This place was NOT clean. I should have showered with flip flops on. Slept in the bed and the next day there were bug bites on me! Clearly from the bed. Not cool. And if the cleanliness wasn't enough to detour you, the amount of noise there makes sure that you can't sleep. During the day it's fine, but at night, outside people start selling things like laundry baskets and other various random items. It's loud there, you're not going to get much sleep. Oh and there's no elevator, so be prepared to carry your stuff up the stairs. Travel light! And the hotel is located where cars and taxi's cannot drive to, so you'll have to carry or drag your stuff from the nearby road or parking garage there. If you don't have to, don't stay here!

Well... after reading some reviews of the place I was hoping that it would improve from all the negative reviews. Hmm I was partly right.

Negatives
1) The street that the hotel is on is very busy even though you can not drive up to the hotel. The front street is not open to traffic, but it is very noisy foot traffic. If you arrive at the hotel with a taxi, they have to drop you off at the corner. No choice, so don't bring too heavy or lots of luggage.
2) On some nights there is a night market and loud music and people noise is there. This can be really annoying if you like to sleep early.
3) No elevator. There is a huge 2 flights of stairs to get to the front desk, you have lug your luggage up. Then there may be another 1-2 flights of stairs to get to your room.
4) Not the cleanest place, I have slept in my clothes and there were bugs flying around the room. No screens on the windows to prevent unwanted guest.

Positive
1) very nice staff
2) The bathroom was fairly clean
3) There was hot water.
4) Location is very good in the sense, it is in a very busy and popular location of central Lima.
5) Good security, there is a guard at the bottom of the steps.
6) well stock fridge

I only stayed here because it was part of a tour.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. There was nothing good about this hotel. The rooms were not very clean, the bathroom was dirty with stains and hair, no hot water. The breakfast was terrible, we went out for breakfast. Very noisy. The staff was very nice.

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of a tour.
The central location is excellent however the accommodation was not great. The room felt damp. There was no hot water for showers. The bathroom smelled terrible, possibly poor drainage. The room was cold but this appears to be par for the course in Peru, no heating in buildings. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. I would recommend for no more than a one or two night stay.
