“great stay!”
Reviewed August 22, 2011

stayed for four nights at 3B. the B&B is located in barranco, a district that is safe, quiet and pleasant, and a cab ride to miraflores will be less than ten minutes.

rooms were bright and clean, and showers hot and strong.

the best aspect of 3B is the service. matron elizabeth went out of her way to make sure that I was well taken care of, even moving me to another room on her initiative so that I could have a stronger wifi signal in my room. she was also always there to give advice on the what, where and how's of the city.

totally enjoyed lima, and 3B gave me a great base to enjoy it from!

Flying in from the US through Houston with a Saturday late night arrival and delays at Customs with our camera gear, we were extremely relieved to find the driver sent by the hotel still patiently waiting for us outside the arrivals area. Located about 30 min. from the airport, the charming Baranco neighborhood looks to have been a diplomatic center in the past with some Consulates still located there. Walking out for a late dinner at LA73 (about two blocks from the hotel) we felt safe. (They make a good Pisco sour.)

The hotel is simple, quiet, clean, comfortable and a great value. The hotel staff gave us some good pointers and we took a nice walk along the park on the bluff above the ocean over to the Miraflores district and up the main street into the shopping area.

The hotel is excellent with dependable helpful staff and good value for the money.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the main bus route in the Barranco district in Lima and the hotel provides bus cards which can be topped up at the bus station and used for multiple persons. The hotel is also within walking distance from the Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs). The maps provided are better than those at the information counter in the airport. Guide books (I.e. Lonely Planet / Footprint) and hairdryers are available on request as well. Reception staff speak English and they are all friendly and helpful. Same-day laundry, dry-cleaning services and coffee/tea/water counter are provided. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Try to get a room on the higher floors as our's was right next to the breakfast area on the ground floor and it can be noisy if you are not an early-riser. The hotel also provides free wifi as well.

I booked 3B for our group of 5 travelers based on all the great tripadvisor reviews. We were extremely pleased with our choice and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the rooms were nice and clean. Rooms might be considered small to some, but to us it worked out just fine. Loved the decor of the hotel and the rooms were nicely furnished.

Tea, coffee, and water are available in the common area/kitchen all day. A light breakfast is served, which for us consisted of juice, eggs, fruit, & toast. Kudos for the made to order eggs!

A huge plus was the fact that 3B was able to hold our luggage for us on our last day. Since we had a late departure flight back home, this gave us more time to explore Barranco and downtown Lima. The "downtown" Barranco area is about a 10-15 minute walk from 3B. Within the same block as 3B there are some nearby restaurants, a yummy bakery, and mini-mart to pick up some snacks as well. Taking a taxi in to downtown Lima will be about a 15 minute taxi ride.

All in all, we loved our stay at the 3B and would highly recommend staying here!

My wife and I stayed at this terrific modern B&B when we visited Lima. The B&B appears very new and has a funky design. Naturally the important things like the room and bathroom are immaculate and hot water very welcome.

The B&B is quite a distance from the centre of town and the airport. Therefore I would only recommend it to someone looking to explore the nearby Miraflores and Barranco districts. Both are easily walkable. You need a taxi (pretty cheap) to go further away. We felt safe in the area, but I would leave it to your own discretion. As highlighted in a previous review, Peru does have street crime.

The staff were warm and welcoming. As we had to leave very early in the morning, they put on a small breakfast and coffee which was greatly appreciated!

My wife and I stayed at 3Bs Barranco twice during our visit to Peru: on our way to Cuzco and again on our return. We both loved it. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. As they state themselves, it is a "basic" hotel: no restaurant, bar, room service, swimming pool, spa, etc., but it has everything that a budget traveler needs, including free Wi-Fi and access to computers and a printer. It can get cold and damp in Lima in the winter and the humidity is invasive; just ask for an extra blanket if it's cold, or for fresh towels if they are damp.
Breakfast is included in the price: excellent coffee and a range of teas (both available 24 hrs in the lounge), plus bread/toast, fresh fruit juice, and eggs cooked to order. It's located in the artsy/bohemian suburb of Barranco, about 10 miles south of downtown Lima but easy and inexpensive (USD 7) to get to by taxi. The folks there will also arrange taxi transfer from/to the airport, which you can charge to your hotel bill. Just a few minutes away there's a nice bakery, a supermarket, and a bank with an ATM. Barranco has a good selection of restaurants and bars, especially between the Bridge of Sighs and the ocean -- lively there at night. Highly recommended. We will be back!

Room Tip: Arrange airport transfers through the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel on our first and last night in Peru, and loved almost every minute of it.

The rooms (and common areas) are designed with great taste (I wish my apartment was designed by the same person). Hot water were always available. The staff was nice, helpful and spoke good English. The price was reasonable - $59 for a queen size bed. Breakfast was tasty.
3 thing prevent me from declaring this place as perfect:
1) The location, though not horrible, could be better and closer to miraflores area.
2) The room was a bit cold (on the first day we went into the shower to get warm). While in Cusco we got an electric radiator (or 2) for free, here they wanted 5$ per radiator - not sure why...
3) The shower was not well sealed which resulted in water on the bathroom floor, which resulted in our feet getting wet hours after we took a shower. Imagine going to the toilets in the middle of the night and stepping into a paddle :(

Still, we came back to this hotel, since it is really awesome!

Thanks 3B!
