This place is alot dirtier than what the pictures on their website depict. The bed has a old, moldy smell to it. Carpets and walls are just dirty. Hot shower is there, but it's on and off (hot water for awhile then it becomes colder and the cycle continues), and it seems the boiler doesn't contain enough hot water for 2 people. After I showered, 80% of my boyfriend's shower was cool water.

I visited this hotel three times for about seven years. The last visit I made in October. Has changed dramatically.
From a clean hostel with a good deal, has become a transit point where they want to go fast.
The photographs shown on this page should be of his heyday, is now attached as local: dirty, worn, old.
The towels look like out of a bad horror movie, can see them in the photos. The walls are dirty, the carpet is dirtier than the sidewalk.
If you are confident that the breakfast is free, see the photo too: a few bread left to chance, hot water, some bananas. You have to eat in a place which is very cold in winter.
If you want a cheap and good in Lima, I'm sure this is not it. Find other because it is no longer so and do not recommend it, as I did before

Room Tip: Look carefully what room you are getting. They'll say that they can not change because the hotel is full, it's a lie, requires.

The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Always had plenty of hot water. Free wifi and 2 computers for guests who do not have laptops. Nice breakfast on the rooftop. And the staff were so awesome. They were full of helpful suggestions on everything from where to change money to what bus to take downtown. And they helped arrange taxis at very good rates. Everything we needed, they were able to provide.

We crashed here for the last few days of our trip as we explored Lima. Nothing luxurious---heck, we never even got a room key---but it's a great place for backpackers on a budget. Staff was really friendly and gave great recommendations for tours and places to visit. Breakfast was basic, but had some fruits and a few other things we hadn't seen anywhere else in Peru. They have another location right on the main circle in Parque Kennedy in Miraflores, but this one was only another 4 blocks or so...no biggie! Streets are safe as long as you use common sense (Lima IS a major city so you should). We actually walked from here down to the waterfront because we wanted to check out the LarcoMall on the cliffside. High-end stores---perhaps what you'd expect in a mall in a major U.S. city like L.A., Miami, or NYC. If you're not sure where to go, ask the people working there. They seem to know a lot about the areas (tour of the city is good) and traveling in other countries, as well. I'd definitely pick staying here in a simple location than a place out by the airport where you can't do anything at night or might not be safe enough to walk around during the day. Heck, how can you find a place for $25 (S75) in any city that is decent and not completely sketchy??
