Nothing special here. The airport pickup ($20) was handy as we arrived close to midnight. Be sure to ask for extra blankets as the rooms may be cool.

We booked last minute and enjoyed a good 2 night stay here. The transfer was efficient, if a little more than you would pay for a taxi, and worth going for. The area is good and the staff friendly. We thought the room may have been a little cold and asked for an extra blanket which we got straight away. Slept well in the bed. The seemed to be a good bathroom to room ratio which can be a problem when sharing a bathroom but here we never had to wait. Good value for money and free wifi.

Room Tip: Upstairs room on terrace nice but need to go downstairs for bathroom with warm water!

The guy on front desk was very helpful and the roof terrace was a nice touch, but our room was awful We went for the bedroom with private bathroom and the room was cold, the bed was small and uncomfortable. We did not have enough covers and there was a smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. This was the first place we stayed in in Peru and so thought this was the standard that was to be expected. We were wrong. everywhere else we stayed was more comfortable. When we returned to Lima, we stayed in Lima Centro which was far more interesting than Miraflores.

We thank you for your comments and we were very concern about it, as you mentioned, the staff members at the Dragonfly Hostels are really helpful and we certainly could have solved some of your complains before you leaved if you would have noticed them to the reception:

-The room temperature: Lima experiences unusual rains and low temperatures these days, the rooms is in the roof terrace can be more chilly due to their location.
We offer extra blankets on demand, and we also have a small heater available. Upon availabilties, we gladly switch for a room in the 1st level of the building.

-The smell in your room: we send our maintenance specialist to check the bathroom, he actually found a lick in the lavatory pipe where the smell originated.
We solved it.

-The bed size is a standard double bed (matrimonial), so far we never received any complains about it.

We give a lot of importance of the well being of our guests, trying to give more than bedding.

Best regards.

We really liked this hostel and their lovely staff. Our favorite was the roof terrace as we shared it with another couple for romantic evenings... They also had a BBQ up there! The place was clean and nicely decorated.
Even though we didn't take advantage of a tour they have a broad variety for all kind of adventure activities.
Thank you so much for everything ... we will be back one day!!

I stayed in many rooms here over a few returning stays while in Peru. The girls dorm is very safe and comfortable the mixed dorm was the same. I also stayed in a private room on roof terrace which was ok. It's always clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The taxi service is very convenient too. Its in a perfect location close to everything u need. Would definitely stay here again when I return to Lima

My friend and I stayed here for just 1 night. At $20 a night, I guess you can't really complain, but our "Budget Private Double" was tiny and very basic. It had about 3 feet of space around the full-sized bed, a pair of nightstands, and a chair. The naked light bulb just highlights how basic everything is -- there's nothing charming about the room. The bathroom on the top floor had a wash basin for a sink and small toilet room. My pillow cover had not been changed - I found hairs on it. While the guy at the front desk got me a new one pretty quickly, I was still a little grossed out.

Breakfast is self-service, and pretty much just bread w/ jam and butter. The guy working the front desk was really nice and attentive.

We left right away the next morning for Ica, so I can't comment on the convenience of its location. We paid $17 for the cab from the airport, and 10 soles to go to the Cruz Del Sur bus station.

I am a single parent backpacker who travels the world with my daugher (almost 11 now).
We just returned from 3.5 weeks backpacking through Peru and the Amazon.

We flew into Lima, and wanted to stay for a couple of days to acclimatize and rest before we got busy travelling the BIG country!! I also booked a night at the end of our trip before we flew home so we could rest up, shop, etc.

Because of the age of my daughter, I always book a private double with ensuite bathroom so we don't have to share with strangers. We arrived at about 10 pm, and they were ready to receive us and had no problem holding our room.

The only downside of our first night was that they put us in their private room upstairs off the common rooftop patio. There was a lot of noise up and down the stairs that we heard, and also they are renovating up there, and there was constant building noise. The real downside (for me) to the rooms up there is the cold and dampness as Lima was very rainy, and the air is thick with damp fog from the close proximity to the ocean this time of year. We needed to ask for three extra blankets for the bed to get through the night.

BUT, the staff are so accomodating, that once they heard my concern in the morning, they arranged to switch us to their private double on the main floor inside the hostel. It was markedly warmer, and very dry. The windows are sealed (where they are not upstairs), and the street noise was also a lot less. We appreciated the move, and although it was noisy because the shared bathrooms are directly outside this room, and there is a dorm room across the hall, it was a better spot for us, and let's face it, it's a hostel, so you have to expect a little noise from the young travellers.

Breakfast was pretty basic as it is all through peru: buns, butter, jam, tea, coffee and juice. but there is a large fridge in the common diningroom, and we bought our own cheese, fruit, etc at the Metro supermarket close by, and stocked up for our breakfasts.

The location is great for both the Larcomar outdoor Mall (beachfront area) which has lots of food, ice cream, retail shopping, Starbucks, movie theatres, etc. - It was about a 10 minute walk. There was also a great boardwalk which we loved down there along the water (not at beach height, but up above) where we walked to the lighthouse and back one day. It was lovely.

the hostel is also about a 10 minute walk to the Park kennedy (?) area which has a lovely common greenspace/park that houses a great crafters night market, lots of retail, lots of great restaurants, supermarkets, banks, etc.

So for us, all in all a really great stay. When we returned, they saved the same room for us, and easily organized transport back to the airport for us ($50 soles total).

The staff went over and above to assist in all ways that they could. Lots of english speaking staff with great recommendations and ideas!

Would recommend this accomodation to anyone solo, family or otherwise. I felt very safe in this neighbourhood day and night.
