“Tourist strip cafe”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Sit outside to watch the passing parade and receive traditional service. Its essentially Italian food and the menu has English subtitles. We ordered two salads: a Caesar and a vegetable. The former was a very loose interpretation with the egg and anchovies missing in action. We shared an alfajores dessert with 1 coffee and 1 water for 70 soles which is not cheap for Peru.

“My favourite place”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is my all time favourite place in Lima! It's got it all. The waiters are wonderful, the atmosphere is great, the outside tables has a good view for watching fashionable limeños y limeñas passing by.
I go here every time I'm in Peru, which is quite often, and I always have the strawberry juice, it's the best!! The triple sandwich is also very good and, of course, the pisco sour!

“A grand old dame with a good location”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

This place is a bit of an institution, it is located just off Parque Kennedy. It has seating outside with a view of the Kennedy Park, but it was right off from a row of parking spots, and if one of the car alarm goes off, you are suffering! It could break your eardrums! Inside is not bad either, it has atmosphere for sure. This place opened since the 50's. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Food service is fast, but the quality is only so so for me. I had an American breakfast there, it was about 20 NS, and the bacon scramble egg was too well done, the toast was soaked in butter. The papaya juice is nice though. So for the experience of it it was ok.

“Overpriced!”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

The place was crowded with a good vibe (old but with a style) and fast service, but the food was disappointing!
The prices were really high (main dish around 40 - 45 soles) and the food was not worth it. Chicken soup and trout were ok, but meat dishes were bad (for that price!). Bad quality meat, poor presentation and ordinary taste.

I realized many people come here just for a cup of coffee and a chat!

“Wonderful atmosphere”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

Apparently this place is an institution, having been here for years, so that is always a good recommendation. The service was impeccable from men well dressed in suits and linen tablecloths. We were addressed very courteously in English. The menu had amazing variety and was reasonably priced. It always seemed busy with a mix of locals and tourists. A good safe bet for good food.
