“Comfortable hotel with knowledgeable staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2011

There are plenty of hotels around Miraflores area, and are mostly concentrated in the 10-15 minute walking radius from the coast. While Casa Andina is one of such hotels in Miraflores, the service staff at the hotel was excellent. Being a first timer to Peru, the staff were very helpful in highlighting what day tours to register. The staff were also very knowledgeable about the food and were able to point out the good restaurants and the recommended dishes. This is a must for anyone going to Peru, since it is well known for its variety of good food! Talking about food, the hotel's buffet breakfast is not bad - I stayed for 4 days and noticed that they made some slight changes to the b'fast menu on alternate days.

The rooms were decent - comfortable beds and comes with free wi-fi, both which are important for business travelers! But if you're looking for a room with a view, then this wont be it. You might want to consider the Marriott instead, with its sea views. The hotel also provides car service that you can book in-advance. This came in handy especially since the taxis in Lima are not very safe and not advisable if you are traveling alone.

This hotel was fine. Appears to be appointed more as a business hotel than a tourist venue. Some of the rooms are a little tired and in need of some tlc. The service was very good though - they were particularly helpful when KLM lost our bag on our in-bound flight (the first night of our honeymoon) and I was without my suitcase for two days. The restaurant was of a good standard - plenty of choices and the wait-staff were very good indeed - very helpful and polite (with excellent English - very helpful given our poor standard of Spanish!) We upgraded to a suite on our return at the end of the holiday and this was a large room with plenty of space. There appear to be no rooms with decent views. The central Miraflores location is good though for shopping and sightseeing - although Lima itself doesnt seem to have much to offer compared with the rest of Peru.

Dear Guest,
We very much regret we could not exceed your expectations during your stay in Lima. However, we thank you for the time you set aside to share your honest impressions with us.
Certainly, Private Collection Miraflores is centrally located. Therefore, the view from the rooms is basically the Miraflores area.
If you visit Peru again, we sincerely hope to have a second opportunity to serve you at any of our properties and offer you the real Casa Andina experience.
Cordially yours,
The team Casa Andina

This was our first hotel on arrival in Peru prior to travelling around the country for 2 weeks. Reception were very efficient and helpful although due to arriving prior to 8am they could not provide us with a room until 11am. This wasn't a problem as it allowed us after a long flight to stretch our legs plus explore the area surrounding the hotel.

Our room was typical of what you would expect in a 4* rather than a 5* hotel. However, bed was very comfortable, furnishings reasonable and bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.

Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of both hot and cold food. However, service was a bit hit or miss as one morning we struggled to get cutlery and plates. Didn't eat in the hotel restaurant at night as we normally prefer to eat out. Therefore, can't provide comments on that aspect.

One small problem we experienced was people departing their rooms early in the morning but talking loudly in the corriders as they went to the lifts. Very annoying and inconsiderate but not a lot the hotel can do about it. Why can't people be more considerate? However, have to say that this problem is not restricted to this hotel.

Overall, a good choice of hotel if staying in Lima.

For a first hotel in Peru, as it must be for many people who fly in to Lima, this is perfectly good. It strives for, and just about reaches, four-star status. We had a good big bedroom with three large beds and a bathroom which was adequate without being terrific - no bath, although this seems to be the norm in Peru. The breakfast buffet was as good as any we encountered in Peru, and the catering staff were polite and attentive. The hotel could cater for food allergies if given adequate notice. The restaurant didn't have a lot of atmosphere in the evening - either people go out, or we were there too early. But overall, no complaints.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. Complimentary internet use. The restaraunt offers a delicious complimentary buffet breakfast. The hotel's atmosphere is fabulous; there is live piano music and a great bar. The best part of the hotel by far is the fabulous staff. Everyone from the dining room staff to the check in staff to the conceirge and bell staff were very friendly and helpful. We were always greet with a smaile and hello. They went the extra mile to assist with requests and helped negotiate a fair taxi fee. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to my friends!

The living/bedroom were nice but the bathrooms were dated and subpar. The hotel is within walking distance to the mall and some parks but was a distant walk. The breakfast was excellent. Ok but not worth the price.
