Overall not a bad place to stay. We checked it out first before we agreed to stay there. We were on our way to a retreat for 12 days so wanted to know what we were getting and for how much before we agreed to book.

Would suggest nailing them down to a specific room number. We were shown room 604 or something but when we went to check in we ended up on the 4th floor in some crappy room with three twin beds (we were a couple). I told them that was unacceptable. We were then put in another room which had no natural light and was more like a prison cell than a hotel room. Again, I told them that was not acceptable. Eventually they moved us up to the 6th floor and into a better quality room more like what we saw a couple weeks before.

The bed was nice and comfy so points for that.

Bathroom, very clean and tidy. Towels clean and fresh.

I speak Spanish and Portuguese so I was loving getting stations from Peru, Colombia, and Brazil. Porn channel is 24 just in case you care.

AC was nice and cold.

Restaurant on the 2nd floor is actually pretty good and you can just tack it onto your room. We had the fish (pescado a lo jibaro) and rather enjoyed it (doncella I think it was).

Power went out about a minute or less after we got out of the elevator. Power is unpredictable so would suggest taking the stairs.

Staff was pretty good in accommodating us. We arrived on our own steam so they offered us a lift to the airport on the way out. That was handy so they get points for courtesy.

Kinda far from Plaza de las Armas, so you'll need to either walk or do a mototaxi.

Overall, yes, I'd recommend the place, but just make sure you look at a room, if you like it, note the room number and make sure you get THAT room and not another one down in the dungeon.

Hotel (general):
The lobby is clean and welcoming with much needed aircon. It is modern and gives a good first impression.
The hotel has a restaurant which has a decent range of food for its breakfast buffet, continental plus peruvian style food. It also offers lunch/dinner and we enjoyed having dinner here one night.
The hotel also has a small gym which has a few cardio machines and a small weights area including free weights. The hotel also has a pool which was quite nice, fairly small but was able to swim in it.

Rooms:
Rooms were a decent size, good size beds and big living space which included a coffee table, a dining table, a kitchenette and a bathroom. However the kitchenette lacked cutlery, dishes, pots/pans so we were unable to use it. In addition some parts of the hotep are still being built so we could see a building site from our kitchenette to the adjoining not yet finished room.

Location:
The location was fairly good, not the prettiest of areas but just 5 minutes taxi ride from the centre of iquitos. There is a bank/money exchange opposite the hotel and lots of pharmacies. There's also a great little local market nearby.

Service:
Housekeeping was good and the restaurant staff too.
Reception staff were appalling, some couldn't speak English so I had to speak Spanish in order to arrange a taxi to the airport.
We checked out at 10am, with our flight being at 12. Despite having card machines, I tried twice with my Mastercard to pay the bill and both tines it failed. (I have successfully used this card throughout the whole of Peru in the month I was there). They took me to the restaurant to try and pay but that didn't work either. I was worried it would charge so I opted to pay in USD. It was $72 and i had $70usd plus $2 in one dollar bills. However the receptionist refused to accept the one dollar bills. I didn't have any other cash with me apart from a $10 dollar note which I offered, but they had no change in usd or peruvian sol!! How is a reception functional without any form of cash at all? Surely not all people pay by card! By this time we were already 40 minutes late for the taxi pickup.
Eventually the receptionist asked a man (did he work at the hotel? Not quite sure) to run to the bank and get some change in sol. He came back with nothing. She told him to try and get some soles of some hotel staff. I'm not sure how they managed to put together change in soles but by this time we were an hour late, stressed that we were going to miss our flight to lima, and appalled by the incompetence of the reception staff. I was fuming. This last minute experience ruined the stay for me and I will not be returning.

I have stayed at the Hotel on december 22 while i was in Iquitos Peru to celebrate the new year eve. I was given a nice room with a big bed, I live in connecticut, no even the casinos that we have here had this kind of room.

Breakfast was the best!! I wished my mouth was bigger, because everything was to die for! I Travel at least 3 times a year and have stayed in so many hotels from 5,4,3 star hotels, and this particular one I would give a 5 star! Because room so great, breakfast was excellent, all what you can eat and fresh made and the juice was so tasty.

I would definately saty here again and has become my number 1 hotel in Iquitos Peru.!!

Room Tip: The best hotel with a excellent accomodation... Dont forget to have breakfast!!!!!!

My husband and I stayed at Amazon Apart Hotel for five nights. The room was nice enough, albeit a tiny bit small. There was no fridge in the room but one member of staff brought one over a short while later. The sound from the AC unit was deafening and could not be used at night. The bathroom was nice and had been renovated sometime in the not so distant past. So far so good. However the overall impression was quite erratic. We had booked a night away on a cruise while keeping our room at AAH. While we were waiting for our guide in the reception the confusion ended up complete. The staff thought we were checking out despite the fact that we only had a shoulder bag with us, with the remainder of our luggage clearly still in the room. We were made to pay for drinks left on our tab despite the fact that they could see on the computer that the room was booked for another few days. The staff didn't seem to understand that the room was already paid for in full and that we would be back the day after. When we returned I was asked to register again and I explained that I had already done that. The following day I wanted to get a print out of my boarding passes and I was told by the reception that their printer was out of order and that I would have to use an Internet cafe on the main square. Huh??? The wi-fi itself at the hotel left a lot to be desired but admittedly it may not all be the fault of the hotel. I end up with a hmmmm not knowing how to summarise our stay here. I would book another hotel closer to the centre if I went back to Iquitos.

Como se dice "hotel fail?"

We had high expectations coming to this hotel, based on some friends' positive experience and the hotel's beautiful website. Most expectations were destroyed in short order.

The hotel is in a rougher part of town, on top of a casino. "Ladies of the night" frequented our hotel with alarming regularity, and not just at night. The included breakfast was mostly last night's leftovers. Pool was murky, though it did finally get cleaned. Service was spotty; upon arrival they told us we didn't have a reservation. Only when we pulled out our printed reservation did they acquiesce and find us a room. To their credit, the room was clean and air conditioned. Not to their credit, the power and A/C went out one night during our stay.

The hotel website told us they could arrange several tours for us. When we arrived, their selection suddenly shrunk to two. Then it turns out I spent S/50 instead of $50 for the exact same tour they offered when I walked down to the Plaza de Armas.

Hotel van (with non-working AC) took us out to the zoo one day and we arranged for a pickup 2 hours later. When our ride didn't show up, I called the hotel and they said he wasn't coming, cuz he's ocupado. No apology, nothing. He's just not coming. And thus, my recommendation to you...if you're coming to Iquitos, don't be coming to this hotel.

Stayed there twice, either side of a trip into the jungle. First time we had a room on the 3rd floor which was okay. Second time we had a room on the 5th floor and frankly neither of us slept much. Without aircon the room was hot and humid and it had no opening window, but he aircon was so noisy that it was keeping us awake.

Breakfasts are not great - but they were included in our room rate so we persisted in case it got better. They didn't

On the plus side though.... It has a pool, the staff are very polite and attentive, they let us store the bulk of our "stuff" with them whilst we went to the jungle at no cost and its pretty close to Belen for the "floating market".

Room Tip: Not 5th floor as we could hear other rooms' air conditioning when ours was off meaning theirs mu...

We stayed there twice and I was disappointed. The rooms are clean but boxy, especially the 2nd time. It's very noisy with staff constantly moving furniture. The aircon is welcome in iquitos but it is so loud that its difficult to sleep with it and its too hot without. Our room was not ready for check in at 4 pm so we were given a free welcome drink but it could only be pisco sour and nothing else. Wifi signal is frustratingly poor and slow. To top it all, the breakfast is awful - looks like the leftovers from dinner.
On the plus side, staff are very helpful, polite and friendly
