Love love love love this place. Can't fault it, the skewers are amazing and the Argentinean grill master is a charm. We ate here as often as we could.

“Justifiably #1 on tripadvisor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

We stayed in iquitos for a few days and I would say that having lunch in dawn on the amazon and dinner in el sitio is the way to go. If I could speak Spanish I would grill them on how they marinate their meat, and try to replicate. The skewers are awesome.

“Totally awesome skewers!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

A lady staying at our hostal recommended El Sitio to us and we gave it a try and 'wow'! We ended up ordering an extra round of skewers (to make it 5 each) as they were just so good. The chicken just melts in your mouth with some really tasty marinade. This place would be great in any culinary food capital but here in Iquitos it really outdoes itself!

“Fun place with good skewers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

Very friendly staff and fun atmosphere. You sit inside pick out the skewers you want and the guy puts them on the grill outside for you. The skewers I sampled were very tasty. The empanada I had was also good but unfortunately was heated in a microwave, that's the only bad part about this place. Unfortunately the use of microwaves is common in the restaurants of Peru.
Yes and as others have mentioned it's a cheap place to eat. I had a carne and mushroom skewer (which was excellent, very tasty) and a chicken vegetable skewer, a chicken empanada and a half jar of lemonade and my tab was 16.50 soles.

“Cheap + Great variety + Fresh Food = WIN!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

I can go on and on about how much I enjoy eating at this restaurant!

Their skewers are great (even all veggie ones too) but the secret is their lemon meringue pie. No, it's not as good as a fine bakery in the States or Europe but for the middle of the Peruvian Amazon - not too shabby!

Just wish they could do something about the constant roar of traffic outside. But such is Iquitos and you take the great with the bad.
