“An oasis of calm”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2012

Light and airy hotel. Had a room on the second floor. Very comfortable room. No problem with noise at all till the last night of my stay, when some rather thoughtless American tourists managed to disrupt the peace by playing games in their room at full volume. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable few days in Cusco. The hotel offered a good choice at breakfast. Coca tea was available throughout the day to help with the altitude sickness that descends upon you as soon as you land at the airport. If you're lucky, you'll experience a mild headache and some light-headedness, but in the extreme, can make you feel sick and disorientated. You might want to buy some altitude sickness medication in preparation! Gatorade is available in the local supermarkets, which is also helpful. There is a spa on site. Free wi-fi (just ask for details at reception). Free in-room safe. Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel is located at the bottom of Avenue El Sol (the main high street) and is very conveniently located for all the major attractions in town and within easy walking distance of the local restaurants. Plenty of local craft markets in the vicinity - you'll wish you brought a bigger suitacase!

Room Tip: Try not to get a room overlooking the restaurant or too near to one of the outdoor atriums.

I read many TripAdvisor reviews regarding this hotel and finally decided to book it through our tour company. We did request a room on the higher floors as other guests had complained of atrium noise. We did not experience any noise problems other than some noisy neighbors in adjacent room. The earplugs I brought solved that problem! I can understand where there would be street noise in some rooms, but then this hotel is situated on a busy intersection. I believe that is to be expected.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet that was included and thought it had a good variety of hot and cold items.

The rooms were sparse but very clean and just the basics that we needed. We thought it was a good value and in a good location for walking around most of the tourist areas of Cusco.

We booked this through a tour company, but I wanted to point out that they were willing to hold our luggage while we hiked the Inca Trail for 4 days. This might be something to keep in mind for those booking the hike and hotel separately. It made things alot easier to not have to worry about the luggage while we were gone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on higher floors or annex

Staff at this hotel were very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast buffet on day one had loom and cartelized onions. Soooo good. After that day it was back to basics. But everyday there were a few new dishes so that was nice too.

Beds were comfy. Room was clean. Temps were great too.

It´s a pretty property wich is a few blocks from the city center so it is quite but in five minutes you are in the main square, the rooms are very confortable, big enough with heating. They have a good buffet breakfast, all the necessary things to be ok in a hotel.

Through Tourism Peru we were booked into this hotel for our visit to Cusco. Good clean rooms. Pleasant and helpful staff. Excellant full breakfast. Good value. A nice walk to the main square. Avoid a room with a window to the interior atrium. We asked to be moved as the noise from the atrium will wake you up.

Located a ten-minute walk from the main square and cathedral but directly across the street from an enormous handidrafts market on a pretty square with a big mosaic and waterfall. A nice touch is that is was the only hotel on our ten-day trip that provided bottles of drinking water free of charge. (Its sister hotel, the Eco Inn Puno, did not). A big concrete hotel built around a concrete courtyard but with little touches of culture here and there. Nice buffet breakfast included. Good service. Comfortable rooms. A good place to sleep and shower between visiting Inca ruins. Turn right when you go out and go next-door to Valentino's Restaurant: nice atmosphere and good-sized portions of local cuisine with a free Pisco sour.

Recently my tour group stayed at the Eco Inn in Cusco. We were pleased with the helpful and friendly staff. Anai at the front desk and Elvis the bellman were some of the most service-oriented hotel professionals I've met. The buffet breakfast was excellent. They even opened early (4:30 a.m.) for our group on the day we went to Machu Picchu. The rooms on the street (Avenida del Sol) were a bit noisy. The hotel is clean, easy to find and not too far from the center of town. I'm happy to recommend this for other travelers.

Room Tip: If available, you may want to request a room off of the busy street.
