“Good food and nice atmosphere”
Reviewed December 10, 2013 via mobile

We came here for lunch very hungry and walked out satisfied. We chose to sit in the restaurant section for the extra soles as the bar was quite busy and we wanted some space.

The menu caters for tourists with tourist prices. We ordered the pepper tagliatelle with chicken and the smoky chicken, wild mushroom sauce with fried polenta. Both dishes were good portions and were one of the best western dishes we had in South America.

It is a pricey restaurant but the food delivers.

“don't miss it”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

Cicciolina's is great, happening Italian/tapas joint located at the top of the hill just behind the Cusco cathedral. You'll find as many locals at tourists inside the cosy, crowded dining room, where reservations are a must. The berenjena (eggplant) rolled in goat cheese and served over a luscious tomato is the perfect warmup for one of the flavorful entrees. My wife enjoyed an amazing squid ink tagliolini with coconut milk, while I feasted on a pechuga de pollo cooked in traditional style. For the adventurous, there's a delicious alpaca carpaccio -- Peruvians insist it's the healthiest meat in the world. Spontaneous eaters might find room at the bar. It's a full menu, and the bartenders are amiable enough (a little Spanish helps) even on busy nights, which appears to be seven days a week.

“Good food and lively atmosphere”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

$39.96 for one tapa and two main courses. Food taste was good and atmosphere was lively. This was our first evening meal in Cusco and we were thinking more about sleep than food. No complaints, but nothing really stood out either.

“Food fantastic - bar service - eh”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

We arrived without a reservation and were seated at the bar (that was fine). We ordered Tapas (shrimp, roast beef etc.) and because of a communication problem (sorry my Spanish is poor) had too many plates of one item - again not a big deal. The food was really, really good, but the service was not very attentive. All in all a must go in my opinion for Cusco Ciudad - but the prices and services are typical tourist fare.

“A trap for tourists”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

I was recommended to go to this restaurant as it was supposed to be one of the finest in Cusco.

Far from that. With that service and the unfriendly staff I did not even bother to finish my meal. I simply left the place with the feeling that it was a wrong decision to get lunch in there.

It was funny the fact that they charged me 7 soles just simply because I wanted to be seated in the restaurant. New concept: You pay just to get a table? Otherwise you can eat in the bar? Bad welcome.

Food is acceptable but nothing to deserve such a price. Cusco offers much better options than this Cicciolina. Do not make such a mistake of wasting your time and money there.
