A little delayed in reviewing, but we came here around Thanksgiving 2009 and stayed here while in Cusco. The rooms were large and were very comfortable. There was nothing fancy about it, but it did the job. While trekking to Macchu Picchu, we were able to leave our unneeded belongings here, which was a nice treat. The people were friendly, the included breakfasts were amazing and the coca tea was plenty. If anyone is heading to Cusco or going on the trail, this place was definitely perfect for us and I'd definitely come back here.

My parents (mid 70's) three early 20's kids, and a friend and I stayed here for four days at the end of December, 2011, at the start of a three week South American agenda, and had an amazing time. Upon arrival from an early morning flight we were immediately welcomed with coca tea which was welcome in the cool weather and high altitude. The open courtyard inside the "compound" was very charming and thoroughly South-American. The units themselves were very clean and wonderfully rustic, although hot water was sporadic. The breakfast was good, with lots to eat. Overall the Inkarri was very enjoyable, and really set the mood for an awesome visit to this beautiful city.

Room Tip: bottom floor rooms seemed to have better luck with the hot water!

Lovely hotel with very nice, big & comfortable rooms. Staff super friendly & helpful. Good location, 5-10 minute walk from main plaza which makes it a nice & quiet place to stay. Decent breakfast included, wifi in the rooms. Nice restaurant just around the corner called Gustito de loli! Thanks for a nice stay :-)

We had problems with a different hotel, and ended up moving to this one. What a stroke of luck!!!

The reception staff were able to help us resolve the issues we had with the other hotel (which I will not go into). But this was a massive help. They really went out of their way, and this was very much appreciated!

The hotel was to a high standard, with a traditional appeal. The room was really nice. The bed was comfy. The heating was free (useful for some of the cold nights). The breakfast was great! I really do not have a bad thing to say about this place!!

Highly recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aloha everyone! I recently traveled with my mom to Cusco and had a memorable experience at the Hostal Inkarri. The interior is lovely, warm, cozy, cute and clean. The staff is diligent and hard working, always willing to accomodate yogur request. The rooms are simple but clean and spacious. Breakfast is simple but is free so you cant complaint. I am a hospitality student from Hawaii where tourism is our main industry and I got to say that I am impressed how the staff at the Inkarri handles their business. They have laundry service, free WiFi, luggage storage, they can set up transportation, airport pick ups, and even help you with entrance tickets to Machu Pichu. They have Sr. Taico who was very helpful in providing area tours for me and my mom. All together the key question is would I stay at the Inkarri again? Most definitely.

We were very happy with our stay at the inkarri and were there for a week. The room was huge and clean, the water hot (after you let it run for a minute) and the staff friendly. It's a short walk from the center.

We stayed here on two occasions in April 2012 and experienced both the old and new accommodation sections of the hostel.

If you want a quiet night’s sleep, request a room in the new area at the rear of the property, but if you don’t mind a bit of street noise and the distant sound of the front door bell ringing, definitely go for an original room near reception; these rooms are quaint and totally ooze charm.

In both room we found the beds very comfortable with good quality covers and pillows. Extra blankets were available in the wardrobes but in both rooms we had small electric heaters and they were perfect at taking away the evenings chill. (there was no extra charge to use the heaters)

The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the showers were nice and hot with good water pressure.

Wifi was available as were two complementary computers with free internet located next to reception.

An excellent and affordable laundry service is available from reception.

For the lovers of vintage, you will enjoy the displays in the reception area and everyone will enjoy a moment or two in the beautiful courtyard savouring the warmth of the sun.

Breakfast was served in the main dinning room and was the pretty much the norm. Cereal, yoghurt (pink of course; the only colour served in Peru!) juice, rolls, butter, jam and coffee.

The hostel is situated in the original area of Cuzco where the paved streets are charmingly narrow. It is a pleasant ten minute or so stroll to the Plaza de Armas and another three blocks to the Plaza San Francisco.

At reception you can pick up one of their maps showing the location of the hostel and all the city tourist sights. Must sees include the Inka Museum and Qorikancha. Definitely pay for a guide at both places to fully appreciate the history.

Ask the reception staff to mark the two markets on your map for you. At the main market you are guaranteed to find the best prices for all your souvenirs and also call in at the San Pedro market and observe the local trade. It is very interesting and while there, why not sample some of the local bread and fruit; delicious.

Outside the San Pedro market I bought an excellent book with common phrases of Spanish, English and Quechua. It proved to be the best one sole that I spent on the whole trip!
