“Beautiful hotel in Cusco”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

What a gem of the Hotel. The Reception with tea and cookie, spectacular view on the beautiful square and red roofs of Cusco. There were hills and incredibly blue sky of Peru on the background!
The suite was very impressive with authentic furniture and décor. We knew we were in Peru! The bed was very grand with great pillows and covers. And then came very posh, 21 st century worth bathroom with all the amenities and goodies. Even the key for the room was huge and very old! It was a real treat. The breakfast was included with our stay and was sumptuous with incredible variety of foods. Service was impeccable!

Perfectly Situated . This beautiful and original hotel deserves every star. The staff, the room, with everything you would like from a chimney to a marvelous bed, the bathroom with all the toiletry you could need. The breakfast room so cozy. This hotel and the staff really deserves to be in the top rankings

It has been nearly a year since our trip to Peru but every time we think of it, the most wonderful memories are of our time at this wonderful hotel. From the moment you cross the threshold you are whisked into a place where magic happens. My husband and I have travelled to many destinations throughout the world and Inkaterra La Casona will most likely be the standard by which we will measure every future decision.

Room Tip: Have them start a fire and then climb into the big claw tub and enjoy a bubble bath!

This was a treat. From the moment you enter the hotel through the big wooden doors you know you're in for a treat. The staff welcome you as guests who really matter to them. Free minibar, superb historic rooms and an atmosphere of history everywhere. Breakfast is outstanding delivered with the same care to detail that is there in the rest of the hotel. We stayed in Suites 6&8 both very impressive rooms the latter with wall paintings overlooking the beautiful square. I can't speak too highly of this hotel. 5 star quality!

We spent one night at La Casona on our way to the Sacred Valley and then another two nights on our return. Very quaint refurbished palace of some kind, can't quite remember. The first time we stayed, we were feeling the effects of the high altitude and so wanted to just relax and drink the coca tea. That room was right over the kitchen, so you could hear them banging around in the clean up around 10:00 that night. On our return 3 days later we asked for a different room and it was much quieter. The staff tended to every need and were very happy and nice. The restaurant was quite lovely and the food very good. One thing we didn't really like was the incense of somekind that they burned in the middle of the courtyard constantly, which we figured was to keep insects away. It was a bit stinky but you got used to it. All in all, a great place to stay on your travels.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room #11. Very noisy.

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us.

We are sorry about the inconvenience described during your first night; we will coordinate with our team to avoid any similar situation and guarantee tranquility to our guests. During your second stay, we are glad you enjoyed the homely feel and appreciate your kind comments for our staff and food.

We usually have Palo Santo (Sacred wood) as incense during the afternoon; this wood is from the Andes area and is known for its energetically cleansing and healing properties. We apologize if this caused discomfort.

Thank you for providing your feedback that will help us to keep improving and also for your kind comments for our property and service.

Best regards,

The name says it all -- It was our little home in the city. When we knocked, they opened the door to welcome us back. The room was cozy and beautifully appointed with wonderful antiques. Breakfast was delicious -- more than just a buffet. And when we needed help with anything, the desk was at our service!
