We booked through a travel agent . When we arrived we we given room 408 a windowless room on the buildings air shaft . We were kept awake all night by noises from the kitchen on the 6th floor. Next day requested a room change and they obliged . Went to Machu Pichu for 1 night and upon return was given an even noisier room directly bellow the dining room . We were awakened at 4 Am . This time room change was not given . This hotel is in a very remote location and thee are many more better options

Room Tip: We arrived and were given room 408 which was a windowless room on the air shaft , we were kept awake...

Next to a car parts shop with no eateries of worth nearby. 4 or 5 Soles for a taxi to the Plaza de Armas. I wept when we got here. The Inca capital and stuck in a dodgy street : thank you Condor Travel, another disappointment.
The hotel is not unpleasant and the staff are good but the usual pleasant naivete one comes to expect of hospitality in Peru eg the receptionist could not dial a Lima telephone number, the restaurant told us they were too busy with a party of French people to serve us (they did after a fight and the food was fine, but.........)
It takes 25 minutes to walk to the square or to San Pedro Market which is amazing.
The room was fine, very dark. The laundry service was good. Free computers to use in bar (which does not serve snacks) and free coca tea etc in lobby
A run down vainglorious hotel in 70s browns with a nice winding staircase. The breakfasts were OK but they left the fruit out all night and it was all a bit haphazard eg had to ask twice for plates for breakfast.
Beds comfortable and it was quiet

Would we go back? Not on your Nelly.

We stayed here as part of our Charity Challenge trek to Machu Picchu for our first 2 nights and last night in Peru.

The hotel is nice with very friendly and helpful staff, however, the hotel is in a very poor part of Cusco and it is not recommended to be walking around on your own. One night when we arrived back to hotel the police were outside due to locals fighting outside with each other.

Not close to the plaza which is about 30-45 minute walk, whereas, a taxi costs 5 soles (around £1) to the main plaza.

Rooms:

The rooms and bathrooms are clean and in good condition which is surprising considering the location. There is Free Wifi in the rooms and satellite tv which has a wide variety of channels in English and other languages.

There is a storage room to store extra baggage when heading to Machu Picchu and will be placed back in your room on your return.

Recommended hotel for expeditions and travellers.

Not as close to the square as we would have liked ... It would have been nice to go to the square then back to the hotel to drop stuff off before heading out again but we couldn't do that conveniently ... But the staff were friendly enough , breakfast was fine , first room was fine , small pillows though but hot water and good pressure ... then the second room was great ! Sitting room , separate bedroom , jacuzzi tub ...
If I were you I would try to get a room on the 7th floor ...

Room Tip: first room 303 . small but fine , no view ... hot water and good water pressure ... second room 70...

We stayed at the location in Urubamba. What an amazing experience since the arrival. We were driving all the day and had arrived to the hotel after midnight the team were waiting for us and after that all was a pleasurable stay headed by Tomasa Martinez Abal and team. Wonderful hotel with beautiful gardens, small pool and few cardio machines.
The hotel is close to the Urubamba train station so you just take a "moot taxi" and there you are ready to Machu Picchu.
Amazing experience. Definitely a good economic option in Urubamba.

Room Tip: My room was in the first floor. Very convenient for tired legs after a long expedition =D

This hotel was part of a package tour from Sunny Beach destinations travel, so not sure of the cost. However, it was adequate for a budget traveller. The rooms were a bit dingy but if located around the elevator, had decent internet connection (however we had to ask them to turn it on when we arrived as it initially didn't work). This was appreciated since this was the only hotel during our week stay in Peru that had internet connectivity in-room. The lights were very dim in the rooms no matter if you turned them all on at once - don't know if this is typical for Peru but this also was an annoying feature in other hotels we stayed on this trip. And location was in an commercial area that seemed to specialize in auto parts. I felt we were in living in Pep Boy / Kragen city. It was a 4 soles cab ride to get to the plaza or anything descent for food, shopping or entertainment. The staff were very nice and helpful.

It rained most nights we were there so we stayed in the hotel for dinner. Trying to use the hotel restaurant was a bit confusing and unsuccessful. When we asked for a menu, they didnt have one; it seems they only serve tour groups but if you want you can "tag along" if you notify them early enough. When we tried to get service, we were told we had to wait until the tour group finished, so we gave up. We ordered pizza and spaghetti delivery via the front desk; they said 30 mins; it took an hour. That was another theme here - the time quoted always seems to be half of the actual time reqiured. One night we ordered soup via the room service - chicken soup - and my kids loved it, said it was the best.

Room Tip: if you want internet connectivity in your room, request that upon checkin; it seems that the best on...

The hotel is located outside the square where most of the restaurants are but it is about 15 minute walk there and I didn't feel safe walking at night to/from hotel. The hotel itself was nice, with friendly staff. However, if you have lots of electronics to charge, there wasn't much plugs. I stayed in a double occupancy room which only had two plugs in the room and one non working one in the bathroom. You will also need to bring your own adapter since they use 220v there.
Also during my stay, there was no wifi available even though they claimed to have it. So for people on business or need to contact others, it would be a problem. Lastly, they do have a safe for you to lock up your passports if you don't feel comfortable carrying them around on you at all times.
