WOW! We did the 4day/3night Classic Inca trail trek and boy was it tough, but the service provided by SAM Travel Peru was beyond amazing. The drivers, guides, porters and cooks should all feel proud because they each did their job perfectly. Our guide, Grober, was patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable about Incan history as well as any other questions we had. There were 7 hikers in our group and he treated us each as if we were family. When planning this trip we packed plenty of snacks, unsure of what the food may be like. But we hardly ate them because breakfast, lunch and dinner each had so many options and everything I tasted was so good! The cooks and porters all did an amazing job and I am still amazed that they do this difficult job trek after trek and always with a smile on their faces. Overall, I would highly suggest this company to anyone. ¡MERMELADA!

Edy went above and beyond on this experience! Everything was so seemless and it was so nice not to have to think when to take trains buses. Everything was mapped out perfectly and no stress. Incredible amount of knowledge and I learned a ton throughout the the 2 day adventure about the rich history of the Inkas. I cannot recommend the tour any more if the guide is through edy! Really appreciate the memorable experience and will never forget it

We were the only two people on this tour and felt quite indulged! We were picked up at our hotel by Sadam, driven to the park (3 hours), fed a delicious, abundant breakfast by Edison and then guided up the mountain by Mauro. Every detail was well worked out including optional oxygen and tracking pole rentals. Mauro shared his knowledge of the development of this new park and the impact on the local community along with local customs, dress and the geological history of the area.
The hike is a 2,300ft elevation gain to 16,500ft in just 2 km (4 km round trip); not for the faint of heart. But the view from the top is well worth it! We were taking diamox and it was still hard to breath at that altitude. Lots of people were taking horse rides up.
Edison had a delicious lunch ready for us when we got back (fantastic veggie dished upon request) and were were returned to our hotel by about 4pm. It was a great day!

Our guide Cesar was great throughout the trek. He was so knowledgable about the surrounding environment, telling us the history of the Andean culture and Incas at stops along the way. The Chefs cooked some amazing food, which was perfect after each daily trek. Our campsite was away from the others so it made our trek more private. I loved the contrasting environments you'll go through, from snow high altitudes, to the warmer jungle. Really recommend SAM Travel. Great team.

My husband and I just did the Sacred Valley and Inca Trail from Kilometer 104 for the first week of October. We were nervous about it being the beginning of the rainy season, but we had really good luck with the weather! It rained one night, but we never had to hike in the rain. We booked the package with SAM Travel and were very impressed with how well they handled logistics and all of our transportation. Our guide was fantastic also! We really appreciated how much we learned about Inca history, culture and architecture. Overall, a perfect trip!
