Booked the Classic Inka Trail with my Girlfriend. We are fairly experienced trekkers and have been on a fair few multi day hikes previously.

Sam Travel, the guides and the porters went above and beyond to make the hike as enjoyable as possible. They were well organised and catered for both fast and slow hikers offering 2 guides throughout the tour.

The briefing at the start was comprehensive and informative! All instructions around items to bring, and preparations for the hike were crystal clear.

On the hike itself the walking is fairly easy, with a very well laid out stone path, which is well maintained. ( This hike is not for people who have done no preparation! It is at altitude and some parts are steep up & down)

Waterproofs and good footwear are a must!! It's a cloud forest and rain is to be expected.

All meals were at least 3 courses!!!! (I might have actually put on weight!!) Hot drinks and water were provided throughout! The service and food quality throughout was stunning for the environment your in.

They provided a toilet and the camping gear was good!

Finally the guides were fantastic, really funny and engaging, with some facts along the way. I'd recommend this tour!!

We are a middle age couple that love to trek. We were worried that the Salkantay Trek would be too much for us but after speaking with the staff of SAM Travel we felt better. They suggested that we practice 9 to 10 mile hikes where we lived to prepare, in areas that had some hills to climb. Also, that we come early to Cusco, 2 to 3 days and walk around the city to get used to the altitude. Our trek was a challenge, but we discovered that all the preparation we did paid off and we had an amazing time. Our guide was so encouraging and we knew we had a rescue horse if needed but we were just fine. The trek itself is so incredibly scenic. Salkantay Mountain seemed to always be there calling to us. We were able to relax and just enjoy the incredible beauty that surrounded us. I had never seen a lake so crystal blue and clear as Salkantay lake. Our chef Raul, cooked 5* meals in the wilderness. Each meal was a new discovery of flavors. Our horsemen and guide took such good care of our entire group. We only had the 4 of us. My husband and I want to share our appreciation to SAM Travel for making this challenging trek possible for us.

Last April my partner and I completed the 4d/3n Lares trail to Machu Picchu with Sam travel. There are no words to describe how amazing everything was.
Our guide "Raymer" was super knowledgeable, experienced and caring, always very supportive and ready to help or answer to any of our questions. He was a great motivation for all the group.
The food totally exceeded our expectations, our chef "Densi" cooked delicious and tasteful local meals everyday, we couldn't have asked for more, better food than in any local restaurant.
The supportive crew was amazing too, they were always ahead of us getting everything ready and beautifully prepared for us. All the gear was in great conditions (tents, sleeping bags, mattress, et).
The hike is absolutely stunning, 4 days surrounded by beautiful landscapes of mountains, lakes, llamas and alpacas. The trek is not touristy so were basically by ourselves most of the time. We meet local people along the way and it was amazing to interact with them.
I highly recommend this experience with Sam Travel, it was an unforgettable experience and the service was 5 stars all the way!

We did the short Inca trail with SAM travel Peru and I am completely satisfied with the service. The informations given during the tour were interesting and satisfying. The trail is neat and neatly conserved. A special thank you to Sam Ayma, our guide, who was thoughtful, fun and knowledgeable in the tour. It would not have been the same experience without him.

Our family of 4, girl 10 and boy 12 and parents of course, wanted to experience the Inca Trail but we knew that the 4 day Classic Inca Trail was a bit too much and also so difficult to get permits. We settled on a great alternative the short 2 day Inca Trail. We got to hike the portion of the trail of about 8 miles directly through the Sun Gate to Machu Picchu. We looked around online for the best tour operator to take our family on the trek. We decided on SAM Travel Peru, a local company in Cusco with 5 star ratings. They did not disappoint. Libo our guide picked us up from our hotel in Cusco very early and we drove through Sacred Valley to the train station to take the hour ride to KM 104 to begin the trek. Our kids were so excited, and they had no problem navigating all the stairs, we could hardly keep up with them. They were true explorers as they navigated the historic sites, asking our guide so many questions, we were sure he would get tired of it. He was great with them and made it a fun adventure for them. We were worried about the kids being able to do the trek, but it was us that had to keep up with them. Of course, Machu Picchu Citadel was unbelievable, dressed in all of it majesty and even had lots of llamas to entertain our children. Our 2 day hike went off smoothly and SAM Travel more than met or expectations from start to finish. It was a 5* finish for us too
