“Excellent Service throughout time in Cusco”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

The Hotel provided everything necessary to relax, sleep well, and tackle everything one would want in Cusco.

We came prepared with our Macchu Pichu day fully booked but wanted to see the Sacred Valley sites before we did that - they arranged that for us.
On short notice we wanted to go to the animal sanctuary + Pisac - they arranged that for us.

The rooms were big enough, comfortable, and quiet. Being outside of town, they brought us into the city square whenever we wanted.

The workers and managers are very personable and kind and open about the best things in Peru.

I highly recommend this spot for anyone staying in Cusco.

We stayed here three nights with our three daughters. The hotel is 10 minutes by car from the city center and the hotel offers on-call transportation at all hours. They picked us up at the hotel too, on time

The hotel is quite small and located in a residential area. Very quiet. The hotel is very clean and it was particularly nice to stay in a hotel with hardwood floors rather than the standard, and typically creepy, carpets. The lightning in the room could have been stronger. A bit hard to read in the evening. Also, the showers were nice but the plumbing could be better.

The breakfast buffet was very good. A rich variety of fruits, yoghurts, eggs, bread etc. The friendly kitchen staff will fix whatever you want.

Indeed, the biggest plus for this hotel was its super friendly and attentive staff. From the fast and responsive interaction by email before we arrived to the friendly and helpful assistance when we were there. They fixed tickets and transportation, and offered useful tips for restaurants etc. The departing day was negatively affected by a strike and we had to leave the hotel for the airport several hours earlier than we had planned, in a bit of a scramble and after coming back late the night before. Obviously, the strike was not the fault of the hotel, but I was taken a back when their first reaction was that we would have to walk to the airport. Later they offered to drive but early in the morning. That is all ok, but I wish they had offered us a prepared breakfast box or something since the cusco airport does not have much to offer.

we stayed there for 2 nights. The accomodations are small but adequate. They do offer free pick ups and drops offs from the airport/bus station and train station. We even had one day (10 hour) sightseeing tour arranged by the hotel to the scared valley and Moray for which we payed $130 by private car for the trhee of us. It was worth it. The driver was excellent. We did break a shower fixture and had to pay $15 but I think it was fair enough. The free breakfast is excellent. However, dont expect premium coffee or espresso. They even offered free shuttle service to nearby restaurants for evening dinners. They alo provided laundry for a reasonable fee. Would stay here again if we are in Cusco in the future. It is a well run hotel by Peggy and her staff. We met Peggy during breakfast one of the two days and we felt like we are at home away from home. We stayed on the top floor and it appeared to be quieter and less noisy from street dogs which are a menace in Cusco. However, expect to get a workout getting to the top floor since there are no elevators and Cusco is at 12000 feet elevation.

Room Tip: any of the top floor rooms, less noisy from street dogs

Stayed for 5 nights. Front desk spoke excellent english. Very personalized service. Front desk people sat down with you to explain the workings of the hotel and the shuttle service to the main square. Hotel and room was very clean. Hotel is in a residential area which means the rooms are not impacted by travel noise. Downtown chain hotels are very noisy. Breakfast consists of different variety of fruits (mango, papaya, watermelon, starfruit and etc), pastries, eggs cooked to order, hot beverages and assorted juices. After the first 4 nights, we went on a 5 day hike on the Inca Trail. When we came back to the hotel, the hotel personnel still remembered us. They greeted us by name and even made our eggs the way we ordered it b4 we left. If you have time, do order a meal from the hotel. It is cooked by the owner, Peggy, who lives across the street.

Room Tip: It is a 4 story walk up. If you have issues climbing stairs, ask for a lower leveled room.

I was very pleased with my stay at Torre Dorada. Peggy and her staff aim to go above and beyond in every way. We had a delicious buffet breakfast with eggs cooked to order and anything else you could want, as well as a packed lunch on the day we went to Machu Picchu. The bathroom was spotless with lots of water pressure and hot water. We had free WIFI and there are computers in the lobby for your use. The hotel is decorated with original artwork and weavings from Peru. Our beds were very comfortable.

I highly recommend the Sacred Valley tour with American Tourismo, booked through the hotel. It is only in English and the tour guide, Cesar, was top notch. The cost was $33 for a full day, including a fabulous lunch at Toluca, a restaurant in Urubamba. It was very comprehensive and informative, and only 9 people.
The hotel took care of all our travel arrangements and tour of Machu Picchu as well. Individual tours can be arranged for any sites you might like to visit.
Our room was spotless every day, all the staff are friendly and helpful. We loved the shuttle from the square to the hotel, and the quiet residential area of the hotel.
Torre Dorada shines when it comes to personalized service and professionalism. We felt like we were being cared for by family, a home away from home. Congratulations to Peggy and her staff. They deserve the many awards they have been given.

THE best customer service we experienced on our trip hands down! We were picked up at the airport and given coca tea upon arrival to help with the altitude. Martin sat down with the 4 of us to go over the area and make sure we had everything we needed. It is a little ways from the center of Cuzco but they provide free transportation to and from which makes it easy to go and see the sights. Martin helped us arrange a city tour which was excellent and also helped us get in touch with someone in Lima for a tour when we were headed back there. The breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean and the wifi was reliable. We were also able to leave our big bags at the hotel while we went to Machu Picchu for 2 days and knew our things would be safe. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the Cusco area!

Wow! This place is so nice and the staff is amazing. They bent over backwards for us in a way you just never see anymore. Its a little far from town but they have a driver that will take you anywhere at anytime with a ten minute notice. The neighborhood it is in is a nicer one in the area but there isn't anything to do there. The breakfast was yummy. They let us store our beloved belonging we didn't feel comfortable taking up to macchu picchu even though that night we weren't even staying in the hotel. When we returned the next day it was waiting in our new room. The airline lost one of our bags and while we were gone the staff took care of getting the bag back for us which was also in our new room waiting. We were so thankful and relieved for this place.

Room Tip: All of them are perfect
