We cannot say enough good things about Torre Dorada. The staff here are beyond friendly and went to great lengths to assist us (especially Martin)! On our last day, we had limited time and wished to visit the Sacred Valley and they arranged for one of their own drivers, Mario, to drive us there.
The rooms were very, very comfortable and extremely clean. The hotel is located in a quieter part of town, which was perfect for a good night's sleep. There is a 24 hour shuttle service to and from the city centre! The breakfast was the best we've had all trip - it was simply delicious!
We will not dream of staying anywhere else when we return to Cuzco.

We stayed here as a family 2 adults and 3 children. Not only did they accomodate us, it felt like we were staying with family. That can be good and bad, but when traveling to a far away country where we didn't know the lay of the land, we felt like the staff here pointed us in the right direction at every turn, and we didn't feel like we got scammed in any way shape or form, and in fact were able to avoid scams based on their helpful input. The fact that it was away from the main city in a residential area was a plus for us - quite and accomodating. SInce they drove us around everywhere, all we had to do is tell the waiter to call the hotel, and they would come and pick us up. The waiter would come and get us when the car was there. We really felt like we were treated special.

We stayed at the Torre Dorada on our first night in Cucso and for three nights after we returned from Machu Picchu. Since baggage is very limited on the train to Machu Picchu we left our bags in our room and they were in our room when we returned. We had a 4-person room for the three of us that had a queen and two bunk beds. Our room was not big with these beds in it. The rooms were very clean and hot water was always available. The room was very clean. Each group of rooms had a lounge area with a TV and hot water for making tea.

The beds were very comfortable and had many layers of blankets. Since the daytime temperature in Cusco is about the same year round, a heater was provided to take off the chill on winter nights.

Breakfast was very nice and available starting at 5 am. There is the standard assortment of cereals, breads and a nice homemade cake. Eggs are cooked to order. The coffee in Peru is exceptional and it was the same at the hotel. Having heated milk to put in it was a nice touch for me. When we left on an early flight we were given a takeaway breakfast to take to the airport.

The hotel staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. We organized a tour of Cusco through the hotel and a 10 hour private car tour with the hotel driver of the Sacred Valley. If there is more one person, a private driver is great as you get there before the tour busses and can stop along the way to take photos of the amazing scenery. Actually, I would do this trip alone too. Thanks Mario.

Since the hotel is away from downtown and there is nothing of note around the hotel, the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the Plaza Des Armas. We would go into town to eat and wander around. Shuttles are also available to and from the Poroy train station for a reasonable fee. Airport pickup is free. You can arrange to be picked up at either place which is nice.

Overall this was a really nice place to stay. The staff goes out of their way to help.

This is truly an amazing Hotel. It is clean, detail oriented, and very friendly. They will totally go out of their way for you-over and above! They have a driver to take you to and from the airport, train station or town. The breakfast was very good also. They basically handled every thing we did including our trip to Machuu Picchu. Super organized and always watching out for you, the guest. They speak English well also. Great hotel-you will not go wrong!
