Although a little off from the tourist center, I didn't mind because the hotel has a free efficient shuttle service. My room was clean, quiet and nice. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. I felt totally at home, like I was staying with knowledgeable friends.

Room Tip: If your going to Machu Picchu spend a least 2 full days in Cuzco. You'll want to get adjusted t...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hotel Torre Dorada while travelling to Cuzco and Machu Picchu with my parents. From our first pick-up at the Cuzco airport to the final goodbye, our stay was excellent. The driver, Mario, is very friendly and will pick you up and drop you off anywhere in the city, anytime, for free. Reception staff were always courteous and eager to be of service, even going so far as to set out some bread and cheese for us for a late night snack when we were too tired to venture out for dinner. Breakfast was delicious and the cook was very friendly.
The hotel was well-kept and our rooms, while a little on the smaller size, were cozy and clean and equipped with space heaters incase you got chilly. Hot water for showers was always plentiful. The roof-top patio was a great way to spend an afternoon as we sipped Coca Tea and adjusted to the elevation.
The only possible down side to this hotel is that it is a bit out of the way in a residential area, so if you are looking to be right near the centre square and to experience a lot of the night life, it may not be for you. However, the free shuttle service made it so we could enjoy the quiet of the neighbourhood and still get where we wanted to go relatively quickly.
Thanks for a great stay and we will be back if ever in Cuzco again!

Selected this hotel based upon reviews I read even though I was somewhat skeptical that it could have been as described by other reviewers. Having spent 3 nights there, it is as good if not better! The entire staff from the drivers, to the front desk staff, the cook and breakfast attendants, the housekeepers, and even the subcontractors are so over the top in terms of what they are willing to do and their totally hospitable approach that you will have a smile on, inside and out.

The hotel itself is really basic, but very nicely appointed and maintained. Yes the location is a bit out of the way, but their free car service is absolutely on-time, proactive, and convenient to use.

Our stay here was excellent. The staff were more than friendly and helpful with our trip planning. The morning meals were excellent with made to order eggs etc. And our room was always very clean. The location was also quiet and pleasant.

Rooms were very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was very good with omelettes made to order or pancakes as well as coffee, yogurt, cereal, toast, and assorted pastries. I highly recommend this hotel. The location is a bit out of the way, however the complimentary rides make up for this.

My party of three (me, my wife, and my 20-something daughter) stayed here for 3 nights in March. We booked through Machu Travel Peru and expected a triple. Instead we received one room with a Queen bed and one room with twin beds (even better than a triple for us). The hotel coordinated with Machu Travel Peru to make sure we understood our itinerary each day. The staff of the hotel was excellent...helping us with bags, showing us where to refill our water bottles from a water cooler for free, making us eggs-to-order for breakfast (along with many other available muffins, ham, toast, etc) at convenient times, packing a breakfast for use when we had to leave very early one morning, etc. We stayed two nights, went to Machu Picchu for one night, and then returned for one night. The hotel suggested, and we accepted, the idea to leave two of our three bags at this hotel during our one overnight stay near Machu Picchu. Great idea. The hotel is not in the central core of Cusco (we knew this from reading the reviews). Not a problem...I simply called the hotel from downtown Cusco restaurants at night and they sent a driver to come pick us up for the short ride back to the hotel. We felt very safe in the hotel, but this is not a neighborhood for walking around at night. Clean, attractive hotel inside. No TVs in the rooms but who needs TV when you are in Cusco? There is a TV in the attractive lounge if you really need one.

This residential style lodge is - wait for it - in a residential suburb- abour 10 minutes drive from central Cusco.

They offer stress free transfers to and from the airport and at any time you want to visit the city. Accommodation is in small / ensuite style bedrooms - not too much room except for your bags and the bed. (which is firm but comfortable). Breakfast is continental style with choice of eggs / omelette.

Whilst the basic accomodation suited our needs - It is the personalised service which sets this place apart. Nothing is too much trouble and all staff are pleasant and attentive.

We arranged a full day "Boleto Turistico Del Cusco Parcial" tour at the reception - with 1 day notice - which included the 4 major archaeological sites
§ Ollantaytambo § Pisac § Moray § Chinchero These were all amazing - made all the more special by having a Titicaca Peruvian - (Huerberto who also worked on site at MP for 15 years) Tour guide who shared many historical and MP practical tips.

I'm a tough marker so 5 for service and 3 for accomodation. Very good overall.
