Loki in Cusco is a great Hostel for people who would like to make party or just relax in the hammocks in the nice garden.
The food they cook is EXCELLENT!!!
We had a private room (own bathroom, towels, tea) and they cleanded it every day.
Loki has also a travel agency but in my opinion are the prices for the tours a little bit too high. The staff at the reception is very helpful and try to fix every problem as soon as possible. Only negative thing I can say is the Bar staff. Are all backpackers and not very friendly. More interested in make party than care about the guests.

Room Tip: If you would like to have a peaceful sleep ask for a room next to the reception.

Great place, very cool place to hang out.
The included breakfast and the attention of the lady's working there could improve a lot.
In general it is a good place to stay, warm showers, clean bathrooms, good food and the comun spaces very comfortable to chill and meet people

Overall, I really enjoyed staying here. The atmosphere is very sociable. The staff can easily arrange for trips outside Cuzco (ie. Macchu Pichu). I did one and found it very well run. Furthermore, as a hostel, the dorm rooms and restroom facilities are really what you would expect to the South American standard with no nasty surprises.

The only drawback from staying here is that those wanting to indulge in Cuzco's nightlife, as opposed to Loki's, will have to face hiking up the cliff, which is what the way back from the centre feels like at altitude and at 1 am, or actually in the heat of the day at 1pm as well. With that in mind I would recommend it for those who are fit or like holing up in their hostel. For the adventurous and less confident about their physical fitness, I might suggest perhaps losing out, but staying elsewhere.

the location is indeed wonderful and clean. But thats already it when it comes to positive experience I had during my 4 day stay at Loki Cusco.
The staff is quite unfriendly and especially the bartenders (all backpackers themselves) are arrogant. As of 8pm the music in the bar is so loud that you have to shout to have conversations. The parties go on until 1.30 am every day and most rooms dont offer any sound isolation (and the parties are not very good).
It is quite common that people have sex in dorm rooms, which is quite inconvenient as well.
Prices for food and any travel trips are too high. rather book with other agencies and eat at the market San Pedro for half the money!

So if you wanna party all night long and miss all the amazing outdoorsport opportunities offered in cusco, chose this hostel.

Room Tip: if you chose loki ask for a room at the entrance. otherwise you gonna listen to the party all night...

We went during NYE last year, so I'm sure my experience was slightly different than most visits. We stayed in a 6- bed hostel with shared bathroom. There were double stacked single bunk beds with lock boxes big enough for a medium sized backpack. The room overlooked the bar and outdoor area (ping pong tables, lounge chairs, etc...). I'll let you know the bad part first. They had set off fireworks in that open area every hour for every place (and I mean EVERY) it turned midnight. So it sounded like a bomb going off every hour the entire night. Earplugs were no use. Also, it was a little far from the town and uphill made it a difficult walk back from town (15 minute walk). The showers were located near the computer room and had to go "outside", which was quiet chilly in January. Now the positives:

Pros:
- Food is safe to eat (even raw foods, so salad was nice change of pace).
- Bunk-beds were fairly comfortable. No temperpedic by any means, but better than average.
- Help desk was always able to answer all questions.
- Booking excursions was easy and reliable in local office (i.e. site-seeing tours)
- Hot water in showers.
- Lockers had charging stations in them, even while locked up.

Room Tip: Away from recreation area is quieter.

Hard to know where to begin.... this is my second visit to this hostel and as usual, I am very happy with my choice.
Staff: very welcoming and always happy to help. Mary from recepcion, She rocks!
Food: the menu is way better (club sandwich oh my!!!) you can find salads, soups, sandwiches, and even a good lomo saltado.
Drinks: they have the basics and of course blood booms.... cheers.
Music & Bar: THE BEST! (if you are looking for a place to rest and no noise then you better go somewhere else....)
I guess reservations should be made in advance since the house is always full. Also, short distance from the Main Square and they have a free shuttle to some party clubs!
If you are young, looking for adventure and like meeting new people, this is the place for u :)

Room Tip: To rest better, ask for a room far away from the bar :)

I don´t know what I was thinking about when I chose Loki to stay in Cusco. It´s party all day long, it´s plenty of young and noisy people, who don´t let you sleep: they drink in the room, they shout in the room, they have sex in the room and in front of you...and they rob your money. I hate this place. They don´t have a kitchen, just the bar. It´s far away from the Centre. Breakfast is so poor (just coffee and bread). They forgot to pick me up at the airport.
