My husband and I were really pleased with our two-part stay at Amaru. We booked in for three nights before a 4 day trek to Machu Picchu and then returned to Amaru for 2 more nights. We had a great view of the city from our second floor room, which was handy for fireworks viewing on Christmas Eve and for viewing an impressive thunderstorm on Christmas Day!
Breakfast is good, staff are helpful, laundry service is same day, wifi was spotty at times. Liked the round the clock tea station in the courtyard and the quiet ambiance of the inner outdoor spaces. Lots of places to sit with a book other than your room. We also booked massages via the hotel and at ~40USD for an hour, it’s a perfect post hike treat. Great luggage storage while we were on our hike, too.
Location is awesome and there are great restaurants nearby, quick access to san blas and the plaza de armas, and you can walk to Saqsaywaman in about 15 minutes (to get to the gate).More
