Lovely place. Breakfast was good. Couple blocks from the plaza. Can be a little noisy with traffic, ss our room was on the first floor. Cute pizza place across the street and a few blocks ftom Muse de Pisco bar. Great bar

Lovely room, great decor but as with previous reviews the noise was a big problem, honking horns at 4am on a Saturday night kept us awake . Room was also cold with a heater but no plug point! We stayed four nights before doing the inca trail and every morning early say 7am there was no crockery for cereal, no cutlery, poor menu choice and no staff. No bar staff in the evening either. Great location bearable for one night but don't book any longer if you want to get some sleep!!

Room Tip: avoid booking on a Saturday night if you want to sleep...

Before beginning this hotel was part of a tour with Condor Travel therefore didn't have a say in choice nor no price.
The location is good and near the main Plaza. Friendly staff made our stay welcome. The breakfast was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Our twin room was ok size but bathroom a little pokey. The real plus point was that we were able to keep our room whilst away in Machu Picchu for one night without paying. No special extras on offer.

We stayed for three nights after our Inca Trail / Machu Picchu trek. Our room was at the front of the hotel facing onto the street. On Saturday night the disco across the road was loud and went until the early hours. The taxis started honking their horns from 4am and the street light across the road shone straight through the rather thin curtains.

The hotel has unusual decor and is certainly interesting and it would be wise to ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

The staff at breakfast tried to keep up with the cups and plates being used however each morning we had to wait for a plate, cup or coffee, food to be replenished as the number of people eating breakfast was too many for the room to cope with.

The location of the hotel was excellent for walking and exploring the city centre.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back.

I stayed in this hotel on my way to and from Machu Picchu. It is a typical three star hotel. The room was adequate in size actually a pretty good size with two beds in my room. The room was clean from floor to ceiling. The bed and bedding were clean and clean smelling. I had two good night's sleeps. The only draw back I found was the lighting in the room. The room had one ceiling light with 1930s vintage and two new dumb fluorescent light bulbs. As you know these new bulbs are very inferior to incadescent bulbs. In matter of fact the lighting was so poor I could hardly read the key board on my laptop. All personnel working in the hotel were very responsive and attentive to my needs. The hotel is in downtown Cusco and consequently excellent restaurants and watering holes were near by. I would stay here again.

You will enjoy the stay in this hotel if you have been travel to Barcelona, because the hotel is decorated with the "gothic" element's. One of the things I would emphasize are the responsibility and professional of the hotel staff here. As we rush to the airport and checked out in the early morning, but my friend forgot her handbag (camera, passport, cash and credit card etc) in the hotel lobby's waiting area. On the way to airport, we received a call from the hotel staff and turn back for the handbag. When we arrived the hotel, the hotel staff was waiting right in front of the hotel and return it. Luckily, nothing was lack in the handbag (especially the camera with those memorable photo) and we still able to catch up the flight on time.

The other reviews are true regarding noise: this is a tired old hotel with non-existing sound proofing. You hear every noise in the environment - whether from the extremely busy street in front, or other guests moving out in the hallway (starting at as early as 4-5 am), or people and truck passing by in the side alley.

The location is great and staffs very courteous and helpful, but without doubt, this hotel gets a failure rate for noise, a particular problem when you are on a hectic travel schedule.
