We have been to Cusco twice and we highly recommend it for its charm and Inca sites and even beyond that, the people are soo nice. The employees at Casa Andina - Cusco Plaza are top notch (especially Luis and Michael).

If you have not yet been to Cusco, wherever you are, go there now. This wonderful colonial city nestled among the Andes and its Inka ruins is wonderful at every turn.

And make things easy for yourself. Stay at one of the Casa Andina hotels. We stayed at two - Cusco Plaza and San Blas - and were thoroughly satisfied with both. The staff is fantastic - helpful, accommodating, hospitable, friendly. We left luggage with them at Cusco Plaza, and when we got back from Machu Picchu, it was waiting in our room at San Blas.

The properties are wonderfully located and quite charming. Cusco Plaza has a rooftop view for breakfast, looking out onto houses and into the square beyond. San Blas has a wonderful colonial courtyard and common area for socializing or sipping the free coca tea that is always available (and quite necessary if you've never dealt with these altitudes).

The hotels did not have their own restaurants, but why should they? Cusco is a culinary celebration. We enjoyed the Inka Grill, Chicha, and Papa Pacha, and would have gladly stayed another week just to test the rest of the recommended restaurants. The Casa Andinas staff can (and did!) make excellent recommendations and show you how to get there.

For my next trip to Peru, the housing decision has already been made - if there is a Casa Andina in the city, that's where I'll stay.

We stayed three nights in Cusco and then returned for another two nights after travelling to Aguascalientes and Machu Picchu. We found Casa Andina Plaza to be a great location next to the Plaza de Armes (Main Square). Our room looked out on the hill behind the Catedral with a view over the tops of the Catedral and Monestary. Al of the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating and our room was quite adequate for our needs. The lift was a welcome and necessary adjunct given the altitude of 3000+ meters.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Plaza.

A great hotel, very helpful and friendly personnel. Very clean and right in the centre of the town. Thankyou for a wonderful experience. I really liked the Sunday display in the main square, a must to see.

This hotel is in old building with high step between the room end bathroom. Also, you have to enter the bathroom and close the door to use entire bathroom. Bathroom window was facing some emergency stairs or something, somehow uncomfortable. Bad odor and really small room, little bit too noisy. Big hole in the wall for a TV cable. Not worth the price.

We spent 3 nights @ Casa Andina in Cusco. We loved our room 339 it was small but comfortable and had a nice view .Some of the rooms look @ walls and other rooms . Our room was very clean and staff was very accomadating. I needed oxygen and they brought it to me right away. The Oxygen is free for 10-15 min. They also sell cans of oxygen for about $17.00 .The hotel is in a great location in the center of everything. It was the middle of our trip and time to do wash there were places to have your wash done a block away. (cost less than having hotel do it)
The Breakfast was good as well.We really enjoyed our stay in Cusco.
Thank you everyone @ Casa Andina.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view or you maybe looking at a wall or hallway.

Pros:
- Location is great! Everything is within walking distance! 1 min walk to the city square, 2 mins away from a starbucks! The neighbourhood is safe to walk at night.
- Big room (superior room). Huge bed, decent washroom. Some wasted space for the large sitting area.
- Room was close to an elevator and it was quiet at night.
- Decent free breakfast.
- Free wifi.

Cons:
- The staff is either brand new or very poorly trained. The check in process was very slow, had to sit and wait while passports were photocopied, information was taken down. At least 20 minutes for something pretty simple. We asked for tour advice the next day from a different staff member and were given very vague recommendations. Then told to wait for their tour person to come and speak to us. After waiting for 20 minutes we got fed up and left and booked a tour at an agency down the street.
