I have eaten here three times and have never been disappointed. Empanadas (6 soles/$2) are big, filling and tasty.

The mushroom quiche is flavorful. I also tried the Lasagna (18 soles/$6) and it's a huge portion, enough for two people. The cupcakes are also decadent.

If you're on Ave. El Sol, give this place a try. Ambience is very cozy.

Stopped at this place so many times during my 6week stay in Cusco! Great coffee and even better cake :)

Order the chocolate mocha cupcake with caramel inside- you won't regret it!!

I am a croissant, pain au raisin/chocolat, well patisserie junkie. So when I saw this swanky looking place in the centre of Cusco, I was looking forward to a good bit of pastry.

Anyways, I ask for pain au chocolat, alas they only have a choc croissant.

So, long story short, it was awful. Pastry wasn't puffy, all stuck together, too sweet, not enough butter and the chocolate tasted very cheap.

Dissappointed, yes.

If you're going to spend a big heap of cash on making you're place look 'authentic' at least get the basic patisserie right!

People travelling to Peru soon find out that is not that easy to find a decent cup of coffee. In Cusco Valeriana is one of the places to head to when you're looking for just that. Conveniently located across from Qorikancha on busy Avenida del Sol it's also a great place for a break and a chance to get away from it all, in case touristy Cusco is getting to you a bit too much. Settle in, order your favourite coffee and relax.

We visited this cafe a few days and found the whole experience to be wonderful. Recommended by some friends, we tried it out as we craved cake and good tea!

Firstly the atmosphere and decor were really fresh and modern, a very clean place where the food is presented wonderfully in the counters to make it all look very tempting! The staff were welcoming and attentive, we found the service was quick and lovely.

We ordered an empanada and the massive chocolate cake and weren't disappointed. The empanada was served hot with a slice of lime and was very meaty - a good feed for 6 soles. Meanwhile the huge chocolate cake was hard to finish and it was one of the best I've ever tried - moist, sweet and with lots of topping all for 10 soles. Finally, we ordered one of the house speciality teas that we were very impressed with. Lemongrass, spearmint, honey and ginger all freshly stewed in a pot for a divine flavour... could drink it every day.

For a real treat this a great place to visit, and good value for what you get too!
