“Nice Peruvian Neighborhood”

This apartment is in a lively and interesting neighborhood away from all the tourists in downtown Cusco. It is about a 10 minute cab ride to town center.

We were there for 7 nights. Our first night was not good. The pillows were terrible and there were so many heavy blankets on the bed we couldn't move. Since there isn't any heat in the apt we thought we better keep them on. The first thing we did when we got up in the morning was to go buy 2 pillows and remove half the blankets. We slept much better after this.

There is a rooftop area where the laundry and kitchen is located. It is ufortunate they don't capitolize on this area for the guests and provide some outdoor furniture. The view from here is so nice and it would give guests a safe, enjoyable place to relax outside.

The breakfast was very good.

The apt. is good size and nicely furnished. It was easy to catch a taxi from here.

We had a tough time with the altitude and food in Cusco. I think not feeling good for that week has shadowed our overall experience there a bit.

“We felt at home here”

Our group of 4 seniors appreciated the homey atmosphere of our Samana Vacation Rentals apartment. The proprietor (Jay Azurin) was not on site, but his mother, Betty, handled all our needs. There were lots of extras, such as a cell phone to use and transport to the airport. Breakfast consisted of an oatmeal drink and potatoes with cheese and rolls or pancakes. The only downside was erratic hot water in the shower. To avoid this problem we suggest you bring your own universal sink stopper and plan on baths! You probably won't want to walk to the historic district; it's a long way and there are a lot of car fumes. Taxis are affordable in Cusco.

We have just spent 6 days in Cusco , The flat was excellent as far as location, cleanliness and value or money. We enjoyed Sra jacqui's breakfasts(included in price). The flat is 15 minutes from AvenidaSol and the Plaza de Armas. We felt totally at ease safe in the area. We were met at the airport and given all the information required by Yerson and Miguel. They gave us a mobile phone which we could use to contact them at any time.we wouldhigjly recommend this vacation rental.

“Excellent Base for Exploring the Cusco/Machu Picchu Area”
Reviewed January 31, 2013 for a stay in May 2012

Short Version:
We are a family, of four and this was our first trip to South America. We stayed here for a week in May 2012, and it was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this place as a home away from home, while exploring the Cusco/Machu Picchu area. We did several Day tours, and an overnight Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu tour using this apartment as our home base. It was handy to leave our luggage here & just take an overnight/small daypack to Machu Picchu. We would definately stay here again.

Long Version:
The apartment, alone, met our needs perfectly. The warm, friendly service we received from each of the people involved was a bonus. They made us feel especially at home and welcome. The owner is very easy to communicate with by phone & email. He provides a list of helpful information & can arrange tours for you if you wish. We already had our tours booked elsewhere, otherwise, I would have booked here, and saved some research time.

This place is almost like staying in a bed and breakfast. You get the privacy of your own apartment, with the warmth of friendly people to help you, in addition. We were met at the airport, driven to the apartment, and given a briefing on everything, including locations of grocery stores, good restaurants etc. Also, we received an authentic Peruvian breakfast each morning in the breakfast room, which was a nice touch (loved the banana pancakes).

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom apartments in this five floor building (no elevator as far as I know). It met all of our expectations. It is perfectly clean (even the stairwells and terrace were immaculate), the photos are accurate, the kitchen is well equipped, bottled water is provided, the tv & wifi worked fine, cell phone is provided, the laundry room was really appreciated (5 week trip), grocery shopping is a short walk away, and we felt completely safe & secure staying here. The main square is about a 15-20 minute walk (not sure, as we kept stopping at markets etc.) or inexpensive taxi ride.

I have a tendency to do a lot of research for our family vacations. This was no exception, especially since we have never been to South America, and this is our first vacation not knowing the language (which turned out to be no problem at all). We prefer to stay in vacation rentals for the comforts of home, and so we can unpack our luggage, and stay a while in one place. There is plenty to see & do in the Cusco area for a week, and this apartment made a good base for those activities.

This apartment was so much more than simply a vacation rental. We felt like we were family.

“Great apartment for comfort and cultural experience”

This apartment is a terrific option for your stay in Cusco. The apartment is nestled in the Mateo Pumacahua neighborhood. Fruit cart vendors travel through the neighborhood each morning. If you are adventurous enough to try some of the local fruit, I recommend the pacay. The fuzzy white fruit around the large seed pods is edible. There are several very close neighborhood storefronts where you can buy bottled water, juice and other snacks. The local craft market is on the way to the main plaza of Cusco (both are within walking distance). The main bank is also along the way where you can exchange money. We recommend also going to the San Blas Church and wonder around the small plaza there as well. A lot of good deals on crafts can be found. Carvings in the church’s famous pulpit include the pacay fruit. One of the major alpaca stores is located around the corner from the apartment.
The apartment includes all the necessary items you would ever need. It is clean, functional and roomy. It was a perfect size for 4 adults. There is one main bathroom and a second half bath. There is plenty of storage for your things in each bedroom. Large windows in the living room provide great views everyday and give you a sense of actual Cusco life. Breakfast is included, and you will get to experience some of the local cooking practices and food choices. The bread and oatmeal were my favorite. The internet worked really well. The owners were very receptive to any questions we had. They are very easy to work with and friendly. They are very knowledgeable about Cusco and other areas in Peru. All the tours they recommended were very good.
