Description: Seledonia's Mesa is the place to be in Cusco if you want a familiar athmosphere and truly excellent local food! Lunch at Selia's (as friends call her) is a sunny and joyful experience in her warm, covered patio. And dining is like being home at a Cusco family, enjoying some of Cusco's finest dishes in a cozy athmosphere. Cooking classes are part of the experience, too: so you can take Seledonia's wonderful cuisine back home!

Her lomo saltado begins with top cuts of beef, skirt steak, which are not overcooked. The flavors and portions are solid. The sopa criolla was also very balanced - not too thin, rich, or salty. The soup also demonstrated an impressive use of cardamom, which is not an easy spice to balance or blend.

We were looking around cusco for a good, economical place to eat and stumbled upon this gem. For eight soles each we got a lovely chicken vegetable soup and then a main dish of steak and rice and beans with mint tea to drink. The woman who runs it was so sweet and personable and even sat for a bit to talk with us with her one year old son. Fantastic, would strongly recommend.

We discovered Seledonia's family restaurant by chance and have been eating there for lunch and dinner for the past 3 days. Her cuisine is fine and inventive and presented beautifully-all that with a smile and very reasonable price. Seledonia makes you feel right at home, we feel very lucky to have happened upon her place. If you are going to try 'cuy' or guinea pig, try it here.

In a great personal atmosphere we met Selia and her lovely daugther Merel. We took the alpaca picante and Aji de Gallina. Both were very tastefull! Go for a bite of you like a personal and lovely dinner or lunch.

A cooking class with Selia is a must in Cusco. Going to the local market and preparing a delicious Lomo Saltado is amazing !

Estimada MizhelitaHuilcaRosel,
Atenciosamente,
