My experience at Los Apus was a positive one. It was extremely clean, the room and bed were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was internal (room 205) and was quite noisy as it overlooked reception and the breakfast area. I also heard some others with rooms overlooking the street saying that their room was noisy too. If you are someone who is bothered by noise then it might be sensible to ask for a quiet room. The wireless internet worked well and the breakfast was tasty. There were 100 tv channels in various different languages.

Dear guest,
Thank you very much for taking some of your time to write this review.
I wanted to let you know that we have started today to install carpets in the lobby and corridors, part of our plan to enhance the soundproof aspect of the entire hotel, and that will include new windows and doors to every room very soon.
Best regards and hope to welcome you again.

Very small and friendly hotel with individual rooms with a very Spanish flavour - wooden staircases and balconies. The room was small and a little basic but attractive and clean. Breakfast was okay but the whole experience was good because of the staff and decor

The quaint Los Apus Hotel is a true little jewel encrusted a few blocks from Plaza de Armas in Cuzco.
The hotel is located in a beautiful Cuzco style mansion (Inca style mixed with Spanish colonial architecture) only a few blocks from the city’s main square. The location is perfect for the city as you will be in proximity to the city touristic hub. You can walk to all the city touristic attractions or to the centrally located restaurants and bars.
The rooms and the hotel were extremely neat and clean. Bathrooms were spotless and hot water easily available. You even had an available portable heater to help control the temperature of your room should you want it.
The staff of the hotel was very courteous and attentive to your needs and you could pretty much make any arrangement for transportation and touring with the help of the front desk agent right from the hotel.
The breakfast was set and served daily with a great assortment of local breads, fruits, yoghurts and cold meats. Everything fresh! There was also, as you will find out, the always necessary Mate de Coca. They had a permanent station where you could self serve at will the “magic potion” or coca leaf infusion against altitude sickness.
The hotel’s entrance is locked at night time but there is a night watch guy that springs to your help as you’ll come back to the hotel late at night.
The place is owned and run by a Peruvian/Swiss guy. You can tell the quality of service by the attention to detail he places in his operation. Mix that with some Cuzco hospitality and it is a win-win situation.
Los Apus in a few words; Clean and comfy rooms, centrally located, excellent service, healthy breakfasts!

We ended up here by chance, and liked the way the hotel had preserved some nice traditional looks, but was still comfortable. Good shower/bathroom, safe for valuables in the room, good breakfast up on the terrace. In our view a perfect location, short walking distance from Plaza de Armas and other sights, but just far enough to be a bit more quiet than your average Peruvian hotel. We also checked out Rumi Punku right across the street. It looked even a little nicer, but they wanted an outrageous $140 for sharing a rather small double with two adults and two kids. Apus provided us a triple for $90.
No parking for our rental car, so I parked in a public parking across from Hotel Las Ruinas, a 10 minute walk away, for a reasonable 8 soles per night.

We were very pleased with the staff at the Hotel Apus; everyone we dealt with was cheerful, polite and willing to help in any way. Breakfast service was very good. We were always offered eggs to order and coffee was excellent. We stayed in room 305. The room was comfortable and the bath had plenty of hot water. The location is fine - just a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Overall we were delighted, the only negative is the external noise and ambient noise of other guests. However we also were charmed by clatter of the children as they headed off to school each morning. Finally, we werer impressed with the hotel security.
