Description: Uchu's kitchen is inspired by classic Peruvian recipes touched with contemporary sophistication. We also play with new ingredients taking new flavors and creating unequable experiences for the palate. Carved wooden bases, volcanic stones prepared at high temperatures, an ample selection of surf and turf ítems from which to choose, native aji creams and aromatic herbs allow us to provide a unique dining experience for all. Located in a colonial home in the center of Cusco, exposed adobe walls, clay, aged wood, avant garde textiles, candles and crystals create an eclectic ambience in which to enjoy your experience.

“Interesting (and tasty) concept!”

We tried Uchu on account of its #3 ranking on TripAdvisor, and we're not disappointed. We had the Loco Carnes, which involved 3 kinds of meat on a hot slab of stone, so we could make them as rare or well done as we wanted. The meats were ot great quality too. The only drawback was the price, a bit high, but not astronomically pricey. All in all, well deserving of its high ranking.

“Best meal in Peru”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

My husband and I loved everything about Uchu. Hostess and waiter, Eddy, were very friendly. Menu was in English and had options to try a variety of foods in one dish. Everything we ate was great.

“Memorable evening”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

It was a dark and stormy night...really, it was. As we sat at a table in the corner of the front room watching the lightning and listening to the thunder, the roof started to leak on us! We were moved to a dry table and enjoyed a delicious dinner. The service was very friendly and helpful. One thing we learned about the altitude is that it can affect appetite. We found having one or two appetizers was plenty for dinner. I ordered an appetizer that was a stacked dish with mashed potatoes on the bottom, then avocado, then red beet quinoa, and topped with sauteed prawns (the dish actually is topped with chicken, but I asked to substitute prawns). It was a delicious dish, and I continue to wish I could have eaten a second helping of it. All the dishes we had were interestingly presented.

“Best meal during my 16 days in Peru”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

Found this restaurant on Tripadvisor after one of the (even more) central restaurants turned down our reservation - and I'm happy they did. The staff at Uchu made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, with a special thanks to our American hostess! ;) The food was excellent, including the starters and dessert. Will definitely be back for my next Cusco-visit!

“Really good”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

We tried a mixed meat platter, it came on a hot stone. It's a great idea because I had not been game to try Alpaca on its own in case i didn't like it. I needn't have worried it was delicious. Another first was the peanut mashed potatoes, all the accompaniments complimented the meats beautifully. Lovely decor inside and great service.
