Saw as part of the Cusco city tour - really unique piece of architecture and guides are knowledgeable. Nice way to start the trip.

This is a remarkable sight to see. But, a guide is a "MUST" It's so difficult to know what to look at first. A guide can sort that out. No matter how many books you read before you get here, a guide has the 'reasl' experience to point out 'what's-what'.!

The temple of the sun is literally inside a convent. This is what happens when you build great architecture and the Spanish decide they'd like to repurpose it. For a very reasonable fee, you can explore the temple, see the former water ways, admire the cathedral and enjoy the lawn.

This tour is not included in the boleto touristico but its not very expensive.

It's an interesting tour and many of the ruins have been excavated and are visible throughout.
