We stayed at both Ninos Hotel I (in Cusco on the Calle Meloc) as well as the Hacienda in Huasao, about 30 minutes outside of Cusco.
The Hotel was decent for the price - about $45 for a double room with bathroom included. The rooms were clean, relatively spacious, and the bathrooms were clean, if a bit cramped and a little outdated in decor. My main complaints are that the floorboards in the room were extremely creaky, and that the rooms were not at all soundproofed. It was very easy to hear people coming in and out of the hotel all night, as well as rolling their luggage down the outside corridor. My other major complaint is that they tried to switch my sister's room mid-stay without offering to compensate her for her trouble in the least.
On the other hand, our stay at the Ninos Hacienda in Huasao was FANTASTIC. It is a lovely compound of bungalows, cafe, stables, and outdoor activity areas that makes for a very relaxing stay. Even better, the staff at the Hacienda are extremely friendly and accommodating, and go out of their way to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible (say hello to Enma - she is the best!). The Hacienda offers guided horseback tours (run of course, from the well-kept stables on the premises), which are led by the very capable and chatty Freddie. This has become my new happy place, and I hope to return for another stay sometime soon.
Also worth noting - all profits from the Hotel and the Hacienda go towards a foundation for Peruvian children, so you can feel good about spending money at these establishments.
Overall, the Hotel was good-to-very-good, but the Hacienda is an amazing experience - grab a spot if there's any availability.
