I stayed here with my friends in the first week of September before and after hitting the Inca trail. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hostal is conveniently located 5 minutes walking from San Blas square ( Plenty of resturants, grocery stores and ATMs nearby).

I would highly recommend this place!

Thanks Tika Wasi (Angel, Mariela, etc.) for the pleasant stay

A couple of friends and I were headed on the Inca trail to Machu Picchu and we decided to stay at Hostal Tika Wasi in Cusco for a couple of days to acclimatize. The hotel is located 5 minutes away from the San Blas central square and around 15 minutes (by foot) from the heart of Cuzco. The staff members are very friendly and accommodating.
One of the front desk members, Angel, sat us down in their waiting area and explained the features of the hotel and gave us an idea of what to do around Cuzco.
Service requests were fulfilled within minutes of calling reception. There's a little garden with hammocks and chairs - perfect for that morning cup of tea. The breakfast buffet (which is included in the room rent) has cold cuts, scrambled eggs, an assortment of fruits and bread, coffee and of course, coca tea. There's also a free supply of coffee and coca tea in the reception area.
The rooms were clean and well kept. There was a plentiful supply of hot water in the showers and the superior room we booked had a heater as well.
In short, a great place with great people and great service. Would definitely recommend it.
Thank you Angel and Mariela!

We stayed in this hostel as part of an Intrepid tour. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were very warm and there was consistent hot water. The rooms that are not in the bastment area do get very cold at night. There are heaters available for hire. The hostel is at the top of a very steep set of steps which, with the altitude, were a challenge for a couple of days but the views from the garden were beautiful. Highly recommended.

You will be greeted by a fabulous staff who aim to make you comfortable! The room had a wonderful view of the city of Cusco. The gardens are breathtaking. Breakfast was wonderful! This is hostel is a place you must stay while visiting Cusco! Oh...and the blankets on the bed are soooo warm!

Room Tip: the upper level rooms have the BEST view of the city!
