We hiked the Inca Trail with Peru Adventures Paradise guided by Alex and his colleagues in May 2012 and could not ask for better guides. They went above and beyond to make our trek memorable and pleasant and also became good friends of ours. I highly recommend their services if you want to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, which is something you absolutely must do if you are in Peru.

We did the 2D/1N short inca trail with Ozzie Percel who is one of the founders of PAP Tours. Ozzie is very friendly, knowledgeable about history and facts of Peru, Incas, Machu Picchu. He speaks excellent English as he has worked in the UK and is better able to engage his tour group from what we saw in comparison with other tour guides.

We greatly enjoyed the trek which was well-organized, everything was punctual. He also took photos with his own camera which he later sent to us after the trip, so that we could concentrate on hiking. Ozzie kept up our spirits with his great enthusiasm. He spurred us on (from KM104 to the trek up Winay Wayna to the hike up Huayna Picchu), posing for fun pictures and even singing! The driver that he used was also very good - punctual, speedy, with a comfortable car. Ozzie also took the initiative to help us arrange for massages at Aguas Calientes after the trail. Would highly recommend using PAP Tours for those who want to hike to Machu Picchu.

Having just returned from a months holiday in South America the stand out experience of the trip was with out a doubt the 4 day Inca Trail Trek hosted by Peru Adventures Paradise (PAP). Whilst the walk was definitely challenging it is a must do if you are travelling to South America.
There are 101 tour operators providing guided tours along the Inca trail. We selected PAP as they were a local operator run by a passionate team who offered guided tours with the ability to undertake the trek in a small group or even as a private tour (which we selected).
Overall our experience with PAP was excellent and very professional. As soon as we arrived in Cusco Alex (owns the business with Ozzie) was in touch to welcome us and brief us on what we needed to do to prepare for our trek in the coming days.
Our team for the trek was led by our guide Victor who has been a guide on the Inca trail for over 10 years and an experienced team of porters. Victor's knowledge of the Inca history and the surrounding landscape ensured we fully appreciated and understood all aspects of the environment along the trek. The food prepared by our team was great and continued to surprise us (who thought you could make a cake on a gas stove??) and ensured we had all the energy we needed to complete the trek. Whilst we enjoyed the personal service that comes with the private tour a particular highlight that stood PAP apart from any of the other operators (big or small) we saw was the private toilet erected for our use at each camp site. With up to 500 people sharing a camp site (as is the case on the last night) the state of the public toilets quickly becomes very ordinary so this additional little comfort was a real treat.
On our last day we also had the pleasure of meeting Ozzie and sharing the experience of our past 4 days on the trek and he clearly had the same enthusiasm as Alex for ensuring our experience was amazing.
I strongly recommend anyone keen to be part of a small group or even private tour get in touch with PAP. You wont be disappointed!

I contacted PAP in January whilst trying to arrange a trip to Peru for my husband's 40th. From the initial email to them the service from Ozzie the CEO, Alex and the team has been superb. They took care of everything working to a budget that we set, Skyping me to check things over outside their normal office times. After a lot of suggested itineraries we opted for the Lares valley trek and a few bespoke tours afterwards. The Lares trek was just superb. We ate like kings and were constantly amazed at what 'super' Mario our chef made for us each night despite being in the middle of nowhere. He along with the chefs and porters even stayed up throughout the night to bake the most delicious birthday cake which we enjoyed at 12000 ft. Throughout the trek Alex our guide told us about the history and introduced us to locals along the route. The trek itself was quite hard but totally worth the pain to see such beautiful landscapes. After the trek we had a day or two rest in Aquas Calientes to enjoy the hot springs and a few pisco sours. Alex accompanied us to Macchu Pichu - it was great having our own personal guide to explain this fascinating and complex site.

Alex continued to look after us for the remainder of our time in Cusco, taking us to the ancient ruins and explaining the proud history of his ancestors. He also told us the best restaurants and bars to visit after our days' sightseeing.

Nothing was too much trouble for the guys at PAP Adventures. Of huge importance to us was that PAP are a local company so our money was going to local people and not some European or Australian company. These guys are proud to be Peruvian and enjoyed showing us all that this wonderful country has to offer. Our three weeks in Peru were to be the trip of a lifetime and the friendly and helpful team at PAP made it so - thank you guys

Just a few weeks ago my family and I enjoyed a wonderful trip in Peru. It was amazing! Peru Adventures Paradise and our guide, Alex, organized an unforgettable four day Inca Trail Trek and also arranged other guided tours throughout the country, including in Puno and Lima. Any of our emails with questions or concern were promptly and thoroughly answered. The company was flexible and geared everything towards our personal preferences, not their own preset tour packages as some other companies might.

The Inca Trail presented a rather daunting challenge for our family. None of us were what you would consider athletic and I, personally, had no real experience with hiking. In the three days we had in Cusco to adjust to the altitude, Alex took us around several tours both to see the city and its surroundings and, also, to size us up in order to see if anyone would require special care on the Inca Trail.

Within hours of arriving in Cusco, Alex took us around the city for our first tour: seeing the cathedral and Inca remains that are in the city itself. The next day, we went on a group tour (also guided by him) around Cusco in which we saw an alpaca and llama farm, the market in Pisac, and Ollantaytambo. Finally, just before the trek, we did a short walking tour in which we saw Sacsayhuamán. Alex was extremely knowledgeable and would often go into detail about many aspects of what he was explaining. He also gave us a great, detailed tour of Machu Picchu. He even became our photographer during the trek when my mother was too tired to take photos. In all, he was great.

The wonderful people who work for PAP were always friendly and helpful. The porters seem superhuman when they run ahead of you in order to set up ahead of your arrival. Not only that but, despite the language barrier, they made efforts to communicate and assure that you were well. All were kind, hardworking people.

When we started the trek, the most surprising thing was the unbelievably high level of comfort that PAP provides. Firstly, the food prepare by the chef, Mario, was delicious - better than some of the hotels we've stayed in. They kindly offered us an assortment of drinks (tea, coffee, Milo, etc.) in the morning, evening, and sometimes at lunch. At night, despite the cold temperatures outside, the tents, mattresses, and sleeping bags (which we rented from them) were comfortable and kept us warm. By far the most surprising accommodation was the portable toilet. At first we thought it was rather senseless to bother to bring that since there were toilets along the way. However, once we got a good look at some of them, we came to appreciate the portable toilet more than anything else. We were expecting only basic accommodations and were then thoroughly surprised by all that was provided.

After we finished the trek, we took a tourist bus to Puno and did one of the group tours around Lake Titicaca. Although it was run by a different company, Peru Adventures Paradise was constantly in touch with them (to ensure that they knew about any allergies we had, that we knew itineraries, etc.)

I can't think of enough nice things to say about Peru Adventures Paradise and all the wonderful people who are a part of it. They organized an amazing and unforgettable trip for us and I'd recommend them to anyone.
