“Underwhelming cathedral”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

It's a bit pricey compared to the rest of the attractions in cusco. Go get a beer at paddys pub instead, just across the square, or get alpaca or guinea pig served to you on the balcony of one of the restaurants.

“Lovely~different from European Cathedrals.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

I cringe when I hear people talking too loud ~it's a religious space, not a coffee shop. Outside the Cathedral is the square, be sure to spend time sitting there gazing at the shadows on and cast by the Cathedral and enjoy the human parade~traditional dress, modern, combinations, the tourists from all over the world, the dogs~they are a scene themselves.

“Worth going shoping for gold!!”

Definitely worth a guided tour. There is so much gold in there it makes you wonder why the Spanish left it behind!!!!

“Beautiful interior”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

Beautiful interior, but even more than that I enjoyed watching a couple of processionals in front of the cathedral for First Communion celebrations and other Saint Day festivities

“exploiting the Incas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

Fascinating and enormous, but full of garish baroque effigies, covered in stolen Inca gold. Really quite shameful. NB "Last Supper" with guinea pigs on the table!
