“A must see!”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

It is amazing what ancient cultures managed to accomplish and the Incans were no different. I can not imagine how them moved such large stones into such perfect formation. It is well worth it to visit this site and see what they managed to accomplish. No pictures do it justice.

“Didnt pay to go in”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

It was 70 soles to get a ticket in, but we paid 20 soles for an uncovered bus tour of the whole town of Cuzco that went right through here. So we got to see great sights of the rocks and walls - just not able to walk around them or touch them. Not sure it is worth the extra money to get in, especially if you just came from the awesomeness of Machu Picchu - but it was really cool to see this site and learn of its history. It is worth a visit - maybe if we had the Bolleta de Tourista that would include other sites, it would have been more worth it.

“HORSEBACK RIDING IN CUSCO only the best way to visit Sacsayhuaman.”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

horseback riding in the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman the best way to enjoy this wonderful place in Cusco, the ruins can be visited with a guide, to know and understand everything, and most importantly understand the positive energy of this wonderful place. Informs them what they need to enjoy the most of this most mystical and beautiful place. Rent horses and visit the whole park is So good!, For the X Zone, Moon Temple, Sun Temple, the face of Inka, and many more beautiful places. I can recommend them to the correct and honest person to take them riding through all these beautiful places.

“Ruins above the city”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

It was a short hike up from the Plaza to Sacsayhuaman and a couple of hours were spent wandering around this amazing area of ruins.

“Lovely spot”
Reviewed August 25, 2014

My sister & I hiked up to Sacsayhuaman while we were staying in Cusco for a few days pre Inca Trek. It's only a 20 minute walk from the Plaza des Armas in Cusco city centre so if you have some free time its definitely worth the wander up. It does cost 70 sol to enter but there are great views of the city and you can wander around the ruins. It could do with some actual tourist information on site telling you about the ruins and giving you some perspective on the history etc which is why I only gave it 4 stars.

Try and find the stone slide that you can slide down as it isn't mentioned in the Lonely Planet and we only heard about it from other travellers who had found it but we missed it ourselves as the site is huge and you could spend ages there. Indeed some families brought picnics and made a day out of it!!

Worth a visit if you are in the locale :)
