El Dorado San Agustin

We couldn't thank enough the staff of the hotel who arranged our luggage to be brought from another El Dorado hotel to this hotel ( they have 2 hotels almost the same name), we couldn't carry it anymore because of the high altitude, I was breathless & nearly need an oxygen but thank God, I was ok after a little rest & after drinking the coca tea.
Room is big enough & have a portable heater, breakfast is above average.
Lobby a bit cold & all the staff are friendly & helpful.
The only downside is the construction around the area that it makes it hard to carry you suitcase &' walk around.

The location is very central where you can walk to the main square and enjoy every nice thing to do in Cuzco. The hotel is on a old building very well maintained which gives a different and cozy atmosphere. The rooms are very good, nice beds and bathroom.

The hotel lobby has a somewhat dated, though warm, touch. Had two stays separated by two days when we went to Machu Picchu. The hotel stored our bags. Rooms were fine - the second stay yielded one that was quite spectacular. The staff at the reception did not want to be bothered - they were certainly not rude, but did not want to entertain questions. The bellboys and concierge were uniformly very good - had to use them several times as we were in and out. Breakfast was very average - and the dinner at the restaurant was below average for what they charged. The locations is very attractive as it is close to the central plaza where there are excellent hotel choices (try Limos). We dined in one night when it rained and were disappointed.

We stay for two nights than we arrived to Peru and before we hike the Inca Trail. Good rooms, great breakfest and a very good location! But, than we come back from the Inca Trail, for two more nights at the hotel, it was impossible to found our booking. The stuff in the reception was not so helpful and instead our travel agency help us to find a other hotel.

Stayed at this hotel with Gate1 tour, so don't know the price charged per night. This hotel had a great location. Walked everywhere. Staff was very friendly. Only advise: try to get a room away from elevators, since the hallways were noisy.

Room Tip: Away from elevators

This hotel is referenced as a **** hotel, but not for foreigners ! We wend 2 times in Cuzco, in this hotel. The first time, we had a small room with a 1m80 bed, in a room with a small window opening on the central hall. This hall is very noisy, and the window was not closing very well. A noisy night ! Three day later, we came back, and we received the same room, with a nice trace of dryed sperm on the blanket. Considering the noisy character of this room and its poor hygiene, we asked for an other less noisy room. We got a smaller room with a 1m60 bed. We refused once more and received a better room with a 1m80 bed and acceptable environment. During the 2 days of this second stay, the door of an other unoccupied room remained open, with a view on a king size bed ! Conclusion, a **** hotel for peruvians who get the good rooms, but a ** hotel for tourists. No problems with attributing them the low quality rooms: they will never come back anyway!

It´s a pity. The place was really beautiful, a perfect mix between modern and rustic. Great and efficient staff, excellent food and a perfect location (two blocks from the Cathedral and its gorgeus square). But the quality of sleep was so poor that I can´t give them a better rating. The hotel is a big cube, and most of the rooms are looking at the central court. This is the first big mistake. The noise from the people in the lobby is heard by everybody inside their rooms. Day and night. And besides this, the rooms have paper walls!!! you can easily hear the couple talking in the next room, the people walking in the room above you and the toilette flushing from all the rooms of the entire floor. It was like hell on earth!!! If you go to Cusco, you need to rest. First to avoid the puna o soroche and also because the excursions trips are longer and most of them requires a really early wake up. If you stay here, you will feel dizzie all day long. I don't reccomend it. Cusco is full of places with better quality of sleep.
