What a wonderful hotel! During a recent trip to Peru to hike the Inka Trail I had the pleasure of spending two nights at this hotel. I can't say enough good things about it--staff was very helpful with every possible requests, rooms were clean, location was excellent (very close to the main square) and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. When was the last time you enjoyed a harpist during breakfast? What a great touch!

I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to have the chance to stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: Given the central location there can be a bit of noise in your room if you do not face the inner cou...

We would echo all of the good reviews below, but with a couple of minor niggles. We have been lucky enough to stay in some of the top hotels in the world and for the most part, Palacio del Inka stands up well against the others.
Although the rooms appear to have air-conditioning, it is not connected! The controls are all there but the cooler doesn't ever switch on. When we complained to reception that ours was not working, we were told this was intentional. Management might argue that the mountain temperatures do not justify A/C and you can simply open a window....... fine that is until carnival month when the local brass band starts playing outside your window at 7.00am!
Also, in all the hotels I have ever stayed at, I have never before been asked to pay to use the Jacuzzi. Given that this is not a cheap hotel, I find it quite bizarre that they would expect guests to cough-up more money to use this facility. This seems rather penny-pinching to me and no wonder the spa was empty every time I looked in!

Room Tip: Use of the Jacuzzi and pool are at extra cost!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property.
We highly appreciated your comments as they will assist us in becoming better at what we do.
Your information gives us the opportunity to make necessary changes in order to improve our service. Be sure that I take note about the air conditioning. Your experience falls way below our standard. In regards to our Spa, it is an additional service that it is not included in the room rate.
However we have good promotion for our guests.
We will be pleased to serve you again in the future, and have the opportunity to change the perception that you have about our property.
Kind Regards

This very conveniently located hotel is beautiful. Our room was a touch smaller and darker than I would have liked but other than this minor point, can't fault it. The decor is beautiful, the staff very friendly and helpful, the food was very good both at breakfast and in the evening. It is so centrally located that everything is just a short walk away. Beautiful.

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in peru. I enjoyed staying here more than the orient express hotel. The location of the hotel was great. We were greeted with the special cocao leave tea and introduced to the manager and surroundings of the hotel. Our room was on the 4th floor and it was a beautiful room, although a tad small but considering we were there for a hike it wasn't a big concern. The food was great. The spa was good, the massage wasn't as great but the amenities were good.

We spent two nights in the Libertador with our VBT Group at the beginning and end of our tour. The hotel is well located, and easy walk from restaurants and the important sites of the city. The hotel is very well appointed throughout with spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet is ample and delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. It is the perfect place to acclimate to the altitude of over 10,000 feet and also to wind down from our hike to Machu Picchu. We recommend this excellent hotel for your stay in Cusco.

After two wonderful nights in the Libertador Palacio of Inka at Cusco, we left to Machu-Picchu. Arriving back to the Libertador for two more nights at midnight (5/8/2013) , we had bad experience with the the room offered. We changed three rooms, ended in room for disabled, with no heating and no water pressure to take shower. Too tired to try changing again we went to sleep.
At the morning we found out that my hand bag containing valuable equipment is missing, probably left in one of the rooms we changed.
Annoyed with the night experience, I went to the lobby to try to find the missing bag and change room.
I was lucky to find Suzana in control. After explaining to her the issues, she initiated a double check for the missing bag, made all possible efforts to allocate a nice room for next night, and personally delivered my bag before our departure to a tour.
Suzana made the difference. We forgot the night fiasco, and started the day with a smile.

We stayed there for two nights as part of a tour. Beautiful and classy with great service. Location is fantastic--next to the Temple of Sun and Cathedral, easy walk to a lot of restaurants. Breakfast has wide choices. The king size bed is really comfortable. Room is of smaller size compared to other hotels.

We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to this part of the world.
