“Nice ambiance”
Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2013. The hotel has an old-Cusco feel. Staff were attentive and helpful. Bfast was included each morning with a wide variety. I stayed in a triple room: a room with 3 single beds. Beds and bedding/pillows were quite comfortable. Location of the hotel is walking distance from great shopping and sightseeing. We had a balcony, which was nice. We were able to see fireworks from it.
A few drawbacks: no iron/ironing board in room, but were available at the front desk. Check out time was at 9am. About half of the electrical outlets in our room (331) did not work despite trying to use a converter. My biggest complaint is the wifi. The reception was awful in the rooms. We had to try various codes. It was annoying.
Overall it was a nice hotel and I would stay here again.

Good location (5 mins walk from Plaza de Armas), great breakfast, clean and quiet rooms. Service was helpful, check in and out was very efficient. Perhaps the only drawback is that car pick-up is a bit tricky since cars cannot stop in front of the hotel: twice we had to be picked up on the next corners.

This Novotel is in a great spot - only about two blocks walking distance from the Plaza de Armas. The hotel lobby is enchanting with a giant glass ceiling enclosing what used to be an arched courtyard. The hotel restaurant was pretty good - the soups were big enough to be meals and were very rich. I had the cream of tomato and my husband had the squash soup. The bedrooms were clean and modern as I would expect from a Novotel but the lighting in the bathroom was really strange. It was so poorly lit that it was hard to put on makeup. The only other complaint is that the WiFi is a joke. It worked well once you log on and it's free but it took sometimes up to 10 tries to log on and it logs you off each time you close your web browser.

By Novotel standards this was slightly below par but have to take into account that it is Cusco and by average standards there may still be okay.
Beds rather hard, pillows very hard and duvets heavy.
Air conditioning would not go below 22 degrees which we found too hot to sleep.
Good service from staff though and very clean.
Be prepared to not flush toilet paper down toilet though - bin provided which is not the norm for westerners.

Novotel Cusco is a great place to stay whilst exploring cusco. It is centrally located making it easy to get around.
Free wifi plus free web corner stations.
Incl breakfast is very nice and fresh and the rooms are comfortable. We were upgraded to a colonial room on or first stay which was great but the standard rooms are just as nice which we were put it on our return from Macchu picchu for a night.
Staff were all friendly and very accommodating.

This hotel is centrally located in the heart of Cusco and makes it convenient to explore the city by foot. The hotel lobby is beautifully designed but I cannot say it's the same for the rooms or the bathrooms. The rooms and bathrooms looked dated and could use some renovation. It also took the front desk over 30 minutes to check us in when we first arrived. I think it was because they were very busy and the rooms were not available yet as there were other families also waiting around to check in as well. However, the staff were very friendly and immediately greeted us after we stepped out of the taxi and were extremely helpful in giving us travel tips in Cusco. I will probably look into staying at another hotel if I return to Cusco again because having a comfortable room to stay is an important factor for me when I travel.

Great location. Central old part is beautiful. We had a wonderful room with a balcony (no view). Breakfast buffet was delicious. Dinner was good. Two complaints: They didn't restock the bathroom bottled water on the second day (to save 1 Sol per guest?), so we had to buy it from room service. Secondly, they seemed to be understaffed in restaurant and bar all the time. Difficult to find a bartender or a waiter in a timely manner.
