Stayed here for two nights with my 2 daughters on trip into the Sacred Valley. Book through reviews with TA and based on price. Rooms are rustic, clean with no central heat or A/C. It was cool/cold during our stay and we had comfy beds with hot water bottles brought in each night. A bit drafty, but with the auxillary oil heating units, it was not at all uncomfortable. Good chioce, but beware the hotel is located up a steep narrow street/walk way that will tax you if you are not acclimatized to the altitude. It was no real issue, just something to know about.

This is not a boutique hotel, nor is it like any traditional Western style hotel. Rooms are gathered around a central court yard on two floors. No lobby, no restaurant - but a great breakfast served each day. The staff were not visible, but they were there - and when they appeared or called in, they were very helpful; especially in arranging our transport to/from the airport and train station.

I liked it; but it took a day for my daughters to warm up to its appeal. Price was good, and overall location near the main squares is great. More than worth a go if you want something authentic and different.

Room Tip: We had an interior courtyard room with no view to really speak of. There are no screens or glass in...

We had the pleasure of staying at Rumi Wasi during in December 2013. The hotel itself is lovely - a classic building wonderfully renovated with modern amenities. The location is also brilliant - only a 2 minute downhill strawl to the Plaza de Armas with all its restaurants and shops.
As nice as the hotel itself is - the best part was the customer service. I do a fair bit of business travel, and I must say I've never experience such excellent service anywhere. Manual (the manager) was especially helpful, offering to explain all the relevant information about Cusco and surrounding areas, and helping with advice on activities and things to do.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

My 20 year old daughter and I stayed here for four nights while traveling in the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. In room custom breakfasts were brought every morning by very friendly and helpful staff. We loved the fuzzy water bottles placed in the beds at night. The location is two blocks from Plaza de Armes so it was near everything but also nice and quiet at night. Very reasonably priced, including one way to or from the airport on them. Highly recommend this place.

This hotel is not only beautiful but has the best customer service around. They truly go out of their way to make their customers happy. I would happy give them my business again in the future because of the pride they take in their work and the pleasure by which they serve their guests.

Since I was traveling as a family of four with two young kids (13 and 11) I chose this hotel primarily for the authentic "cusco/Inka" stone house feel as well as a convenient location near the main plaza. However, this b & b turned out to be so much more.

Prior to arrival, the owner and staff were very helpful in setting up free pickup at the airport, purchasing Machu Picchu tickets in advance and arranging tours to the Sacred Valley and taxis during our stay.

Upon early arrival (7:00 am) we were greeted with cocoa tea and allowed to use one of the empty rooms while our deluxe double room was being prepared. Being able to take a shower and resting up after a long trip was totally unexpected and greatly appreciated.

By 11 am our room was ready and we were able to check in early. The room was very charming and had been renovated with all the latest modern amenities (i.e. free wi-fi, flat screen tv, mini fridge, in room safe, full bath with jacuzzi as shown on their web site).

Every morning a cook to order breakfast with fresh eggs, fruit, bread, juice, lattes, coffee and/or tea was prepared and sent to our room at any time we desired. The day we went to Machu Picchu a lunch bag with ham and cheese sandwich, rice cracker, fruit and juice box was prepared for each of us for our journey.

The quaint and charming courtyard and upper terrace were well kept and provided a great way to sit and view the city over a cup of coffee.

Being just up one block from the main square made it very easy to walk to the bank, go shopping and eat out at the local restaurants. Police presence was felt all around the square and we felt very safe even at night.

I would highly recommend this quaint little b & b to anyone visiting cusco.

I stayed at the Rumi Wasi for 10 days while going to Spanish school in Cusco. The hotel has been restored in perfect taste and the rooms are charming. It's a short walk to The owner and staff were helpful and friendly. It was cold in Cusco and every night two hot water bottles were tucked into my bed. Rumi Wasi means stone house. This Spanish colonial era house was built on the original Inca foundation. Talk about sleeping with history....

We stayed at the Rumi Wasi in Cuzco before our trek to Machu Picchu and after our trek. It was a perfect location and the staff was amazing. They were so helpful with everything, even storing our luggage while on our trek. When we retuned exhausted and dirty, they had our luggage in our room and brought us tea. It was perfect. They sent our laundry out for us the next morning so we didn't have to pack wet clothes home. Home away from home
