My wife and I got a google offer that we took advantage of and our extremely happy that we did! Our guides, Smith and Leo, were incredible. They had lots of knowledge regarding Peruvian culture and history that they shared throughout the 4 days hiking. More importantly, they helped cultivate our group of 14 tourists - of whom we only knew 2 others going into it - 2 tour guides, and 22 porters into a close knit family. Unlike many of the other tour groups we saw on the trail they did a great job having us do things together, our porters hiked together, we entered camp together, we ate together, we took pictures together. By the end of the experience we were sad to see our porters go and wish we could have had more time to play games and get to know them. The trail itself was great and they camping locations were well selected to make the day of entering Machu Piccu the most relaxed and enjoyable day possible. Before and after the Inca Trail Valencia arranged archeological, cultural, and museum tours that we could partake in which was a great way to see more of the culture throughout Cusco, the Urabamba, and the surrounding areas. Highly recommend the experience to anyone! When I say anyone I mean it. The guides on the trail helped a woman overcome an asthma attack the first day and a woman recovering from knee surgeries make the 4 day, 27 mile trek to Machu Piccu! The only draw back from Valencia was the administrative side of the trip. There were several moments where it became clear that paperwork/scheduling/coordinating of activities was not going according to plan, but the guides made the appropriate adjustments and made sure our experience went wonderfully.
