We stayed here twice during our recent Peruvian vacation. We normally don't go for "chain" properties but found this online and it looked right up our alley and was priced right so gave it a chance. Well, this is one beautiful property. A spectacular historic renovation designed with sleek, modern interior finishes. No trace of a "chain" here. The staff were above wonderful. Every staff person we encountered couldn't have been better from the front desk to the dining staff. My luggage was lost on the way by LAN and as I do not speak Spanish I asked the concierge for help in contacting them for the follow up. LAN required a new form be completed online and I could never have done it without the help of the concierge. The concierge desk continued to follow up with LAN until the luggage was returned to me. Wonderful service. We dined in the restaurant on one occasion and the food was superb. The breakfasts were the best we had on our trip. And, the hotel location was perfect, close to everything and we could even walk to the main rail station for our trip to Machu Picchu. My only disappointment was on our first visit we had booked a room with a terrace. No issues with that and the terrace was lovely; however, the hotel was preparing for a large event in the courtyard and was installing a major tent over the full courtyard so there was loud construction for all three days we were there which made the terrace impossible to use. While I understand the need to prepare for the courtyard event, the hotel should really have refunded the extra terrace room charge as it was really a waste of money. Other than that though I really recommend this property. It is a much better value than the other 5 star properties in Cuzco and I wouldn't stay elsewhere.

The lobby, restaurant and spa are gorgeous. The spa is on the small side (no complaint there - it's a wonder they were able to fit one in at all) but very clean and nice.
We had a terrace room with a view of the courtyard, which was also beautiful. The rooms are large and luxurious by any standard. The service was fantastic - both at the front desk and in the restaurants. We also used the hotel's recommended tour service (reviewed separately) and had a wonderful experience.

This is a fantastic hotel and even at its price point a great value for what you get.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the courtyard rooms, even if it isn't one of the terrace rooms. The streets ou...

It was really an excellent experience staying in this hotel! It is located in an amazing ancient and very well preserved building, close to every important sites in Cuzco; with perfect service, an extremely gentle and professional staff that really contributed to a great staying. There were details that made for me and my family the whole difference such as a courtesy of providing a hot milk with cookies for the children at night to relax in our bedroom after a long walking day. In brief, the bedroom was very comfortable, there is also an excellent spa and swimming pool area to rest after the tour in the city. The breakfast and the food in general was very tasteful. In summary, it is a hotel that really satisfies the whole family! If you go to Cuzco I would recommend this hotel without any doubt!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel after climbing the Inca Trail. The hotel is located in the center of the action in Cusco. The staff were very kind and professional. I only have 1 minor complaint and that's that this hotel doesn't have a Executive lounge. I didn't know this when I booked the hotel, I assumed all JW hotel did. This was well worth the cost.

As a Platinum level member I am known to hoard my points for just the right moment. Mission accomplished at the Cusco JW. We traveled with a group a friends to Cusco with high expectations after viewing the hotels website. Full advantage of the Spa, posh rooms and dining areas were taken ! Three nights in comfort and luxury served up right. The staff throughout the property were absolute pros. The only time we needed a cab was to get back and forth to the airport. Otherwise walking to the must see sights was a breeze. No complaints just compliments here!

The true measure of a great property is not when everything works well; it is when they break down. Our family of 6 (all over 18) travelled to Cusco and faced a serious lodging challenge (we had reserved multiple rooms for multiple nights, months in advance, so we were not surprise guests). The details are unimportant, but what is important is that our stay in Cusco hung in the balance. However, when the General Manager learned of our situation, he stepped in personally and made quite sure that our trip would be spectacular from start to finish. The personal attention and care we were shown will certainly keep us coming back. We will stay nowhere else.
