This is an utterly fantastic trek. The first day short and easy but the next rises slowly at first but then plummets upwards right on to the big toe of ausangate, and what a grand mountain this is, lording it over the second tambo. The start of the next Day is hard rising quick up to 15,000 m or more then meandering quietly to the third tambo. The scenery on the fourth day just beggars belief being to the front a multicoloured and textured landscape while to the back ausangate still sits kingly there.
The whole trip, booked at only five days notice went like clockwork. There were no hitches. The tambos are perfectly sited. Have wood burners and very comfortable beds with large wide duvets and blankets. The food was very varied and very good and the chefs, llama and horse men were brilliant? All in all a great trip at a great height with great people and recommendable for anyone with more than a modicum of fitness. ( all the guides spoke good English as well as French and were corectly cautious, having no hesitation in evacuating a sufferer from bad mountain sickness)
