We stayed here for 3 nights in a suite. The hotel is small, clean, the breakfast is very good, and the staff is very helpful. We had a problem with the shower on our first day but they fixed it next day. Also, the hotel provided oxygen when I had problems with the altitude. The hotel is located about three blocks from the main plaza, so there is some walking involved, but that was not a problem for us.

The property looks beautiful. When we arrived, there was a mix up with our reservation but luckily they fixed it after about half an hour and upgraded us to a suite plus a single room although we only had to pay for the suite (our original booking). For some reason, The single room didn't have a window which was very disconcerting, our friend felt like she was in a lit cave. The suite was spacious but the shower had the worst water pressure I've ever experienced in such a nice place. There were only drips coming out of the shower head no mater what setting we turned the head to. Horrible. The two breakfasts we had there were also big let downs. The food ran out within ten minutes to half an hour on both mornings and dishes were 'refilled' one by one and 20-30 mins apart. The coffee was terrible too but the juices were good. We got tired of waiting for the food to be refilled and went out for breakfast instead. Overall, overpriced for what you get despite the aesthetic appeal.

We stayed here 2 nights before going to Machu Picchu and 1 night after.
We had different rooms but both were lovely.
There are 2 courtyards with rooms surrounding them - it is tranquil and has a fountain - just lovely especially when the sun shines into them. (there are steps up to each level so be aware if not good with steps)
The restaurant is small but as people are leaving at different times, we never had a problem with seating at breakfast.
Breakfast is the usual buffet with lovely breads, then some scrambled eggs, sausages etc. With fruit etc - plenty for a hearty breakfast.
They have Coca and Muna tea in reception 24 hrs a day which we used quite a lot. Also oxygen if anyone needs it.
The staff were a bit limited in their english but really helpful. Our cases were stored here for 2 days whilst we went Machu Picchu and already in our room on our return.
The rooms were cosier than the other Tierra Viva we stayed in and very clean - bathrooms were spotless and seemed new. Also TV and Wifi and very comfortable bed - on my return to this hotel, I was already ill and the bed was my sanctuary!
It is only a short walk from the main square in Cuzco but teh road it's on is very quiet.
Would recommend to anyone

Location: 5 - located 2 long blocks away from the Plaza de Armas in a quiet, secluded area. - Close to many markets, shops, and restaurants. With the exception of late night fireworks during leading up to Peru's independence day, we had no problems with noise at night.

Staff: 5 - the staff was overly accommodating, providing an extra heater for the room and storing our bags while we went on our Machu Picchu trek.

Cleanliness: 5 - nice and warm linens, and the place has a very homey feel.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Cusco.

The Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi was our headquarters for a week in Cusco and was an excellent find. The hotel is a convenient and short walk to the Plaza de Armas and the historic center. The accommodations, continental breakfast, wifi and service were all excellent and the staff helped us with restaurant recommendations, arranging drivers and transportation. As a hint, there are a lot of good boutique hotels in Cusco, but not all of them are easily accessible by taxi. With a huge load of luggage (we were traveling home from our daughter's semester abroad in Argentina), we were glad of the choice of the Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi for its ease of access and convenient location near the historic center. Rates were very reasonable and we kept our room while traveling for an overnight to Aguas Calientes and Macchu Pichu rather than pack and store our luggage. As a travel recommendation, don't miss Pisac (much closer than Ollanta) with its excellent ruins and a great market.

A lovely, cosy hotel situated a short walk from the main plaza. It has a courtyard where it was nice to sit, drink coca tea and catch the last rays of sun. Rooms were good and bathrooms very modern.
We stayed here before and after hiking the Inca Trail. The staff were all very helpful and they stored our luggage whilst we were trecking.

I would stay here again

First off, I was moved to this hotel from the Tierra Viva Cusco Central hotel (my experience there was not fortunate at Cusco Central, but, hotel mgmt was nice enough to waive my hotel charge there and move me to the Saphi location). The Saphi hotel was clean, updated (nicely decorated), charming, and quiet (away from city center, though, still within walking distance of the Plaza de Armas). A full breakfast buffet is made available to guests which is nice. My only complaints are that I could hear guests walking in a room above me (so ceiling construction is not that great), and I could hear guests leaving their rooms early in the morning (thin walls). Also, though I do not blame management, someone let off fireworks outside the hotel one morning which woke me up. Overall, though, I liked my room, the spacious shower, the portable heater (it got cold at night), friendly staff, and breakfast buffet.

Room Tip: Ask staff for their recommendation
