“Nice, warm, clean and surprisngly modern”
Reviewed September 24, 2011

This should be called a boutique hotel because the interiors defintely look so. I like how there's a patio in the middle of the hotel for you to enjoy the Cuzco sun. I like that they serve bottomless coca teato help you combat altitude sickness. I like that the rooms are cozy and the toilet is clean and modern. I like that ther is fre wifi so you can kill time resting in your room as a way to acclimatize. The only 2 comments I have against this nice hotel are 1) the breakfast which doesn't offer much variety and the 2) location because it is quite a walk to the plaza which can be a challenge if you still feel dizzy.

Dear dartagnanaguilar,

Thank you for your wonderful words about Tierra Viva and for having stayed with us.

We are sorry if you felt dizzy on Cusco, and felt that our location was not good. Yet, in order to avoid confusions to the rest of travelers, our hotel is located only 3 blocks away from the main square (5 minutes walk).

Once again, thank you so much and we hope to have you again with us very soon.

Best Regards,

This hotel is great! it's clean comfortable and everything you want in a hotel. As an added bonus it even has a little peruvian feel to it. With a fireplace in the lobby and a beautiful courtyard for drinking tea. This place is a great value for your money, I highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Tierra Viva, Cusco and highly recommend it.
The people are very friendly, helpful and the room service and service in general is evry good.

The pictures of the room do not do justice to how clean, and well done the rooms are.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from the Plaza de arms but not horrible. Also you could take a hotel cab anywhere within Cusco for only 3 sols = $1.

We forgot our passports in the hotel locker and the hotel concierge sent it to Urumbamba which is an hour away for $35.
Highly recommend.

My partner found and booked the TV Saphi, based to a large degree on Trip Advisor recommendations. We had a very nice stay, even though we only had a limited amount of time to enjoy Cusco and the Sacred Valley.

The consistently high degree of care and service we received from the staff of the TV Saphi began weeks before we even arrived. As soon as we made the reservation, the staff were in e-mail communications to ensure that all of the passport, flight arrival/departure, and other information were in order. Since we only had three full days in Cusco, we also solicited the hotel staff for suggestions in booking city and other tours. The staff recommended a tour company - which we used - that turned out to be as service-oriented as the hotel.

On arrival at the airport, the hotel representative met us and took care of the luggage and transfers. The staff checked us in and, for the remainder of our stay, were consistently available and helpful with restaurant and other suggestions. One of our party required a doctor during her stay, which the hotel facilitated. The degree of overall service was just superb - day or night - especially given the reasonable room rates.

As for the hotel itself, we had Room 109, which had a [super] king bed that was very comfortable with plenty of useful pillows. The room was well-maintained and in great working order. Even though it was cool (40'sF) in the evening, we rarely used the heater. The shower was wonderful; a good size with ample hot water. The only downside was that, in the morning, my partner and I would wake up [after a great sleep] with bloodshot eyes. We must've been slightly allergic to something, but the symptoms went away after a shower and after heading out. The hotel in general was very well maintained, with the common areas and breakfast area always looking like they were just cleaned.

I would most certainly recommend that visitors to Cusco consider the Tierra Viva Saphi!

I really liked this hotel. Staff helpfull, nice breakfast, wifi and a computer+printer at our disposal, coca tea all day long. Spacious and clean and comfortable rooms. Great value. I´ve been there during 3 days before the Inka trail and 2 days after. All my stuff stayed at the hotel without any problem.

Very clean, new and spacious with traditional details like a rock wall and alpaca blankets but with modern decorative details including slate tile bathroom and flat screen tv. Felt very comfortable and we slept very well. Breakfast buffet was fresh and yummy but smell of wood-burning fireplace was a bit overwhelming at times. Staff was very friendly and accommodating but beware of bilingual guides since ours claimed to speak very good English, yet my husband had trouble understanding him. Would definitely recommend this hotel which is 3-4 blocks of the Plaza de Armas! Enjoy!

Room Tip: we payed $80 for the basic double and our room had a king size bed!

Dear HungryBee11,

Thank you for having stayed with us and for your excellent comment!

We will review the smell of wood burning, of the fire place in the breakfast room, that you are referring, in order to correct it.
