What can I say, this hotel is perfect! They have gone above and beyond to deliver top quality service. Prior to arriving, we got an email reminder that we have not ordered our complimentary airport transfer. That was a really nice gesture. Check in was fast and efficient. The hotel also advised us we could store our luggage with them for free when we head to Machu Picchu the next day. That really saved us the hassle.

When we returned from Machu Picchu fairly late in the evening. Check in documents were all prepared and we were in our rooms within 3 minutes of coming in the door. Our luggages were also neatly placed in our rooms. That was just wonderful as we were extremely tired from trekking in Machu Picchu and the travelling.

The hotel's location is excellent. Literally 3 minutes walk to the city square. The streets are busy, well lit and very safe to walk in even late at night. The view out from all the rooms, regardless whether it is fronting the city or a back alley is lovely and quaint.

Being real foodies, the hotel made fantastic recommendations for places to eat around the city. We only wished we had the stomach to enjoy all the good food the city had to offer.

A big thank you again to Janet for taking such good care of us during our stay away from home.

I got in late after having completed the Inca Trail. I had stayed at the Tierra Viva Cusco Saphi (sister hotel) before the trek and arrived to find my bags already in my room, and I was quickly checked in by the very friendly staff. The hotel is only about two blocks from the Plaza de Armas. It is nicely appointed and very comfortable-

Room Tip: if you have a choice take a room which is on the 3rd floor as opposed to the 1st floor.

Although not overlooking the plaza, I had a very nice room, with a nice shower and general very spacious. Internet was fast and reliable, the staff was friendly. Breakfast even had several local dishes, as well as the more standard buffet in Peru.

Tierra Viva has cozy place for breakfast and a room with great view of Cusco. Yet the room varies in size, none is too small, the bathroon are great and confy with great shower. Their people and service are focused on us and very prestative, always.Near the Plaza de Armas, it has great location yet is quiet at night - which is a problem in Cusco. This hotel is great for couples and friends.

Room Tip: I stayed in the 10x rooms, they are quiet and comfy.

We just stayed at Tierra Viva for three nights and couldn't have been happier with our stay. We stayed for our honeymoon and they really helped to make it special for us. The staff was so friendly and helpful and our room was beautiful. Will stay again the next time we come to Cusco!

We stayed here for 2 nights before and 2 nights after our night at Machu Picchu. We had a complimentary pick up from the hotel, which worked quite well, although we had to share a normal saloon car with another couple, which was a bit cramped. We were very pleased with our room, which was a superior and contained a huge bed and, on a mezzanine level, a sitting area. The room was beautifully quiet as it faced an interior courtyard. The hotel were happy to look after our luggage for the night of our trip to Machu Picchu. On our return, the staff greeted us like long-lost friends and told us we'd been upgraded to the suite - fantastic. Throughout our stay, the staff were absolutely delightful; nothing was too much trouble. My only negative point would be that the tables in the breakfast area were uncomfortably small - increase their size please?

Room Tip: The superior rooms are great - very large and quiet.

-First of all, they provide complimentary coca tea 24/7 in the lobby and trust me you will need it in the first day or two to help with high altitude sickness.

-The hotel is build on an uphill slope so most of the rooms are below ground level which we found no problems at all.

-Location: only 3 mins walk to Plaza de Armas. Unbeatable location.

- Service: breakfast is served from 5 am - 10 am which I found it very accommodating since most travelers have to start their day early while in Cusco.

-Staff: very friendly and they help with any questions that you have even if you have a lot of questions. they are very patient.

- hot shower: yes, continuous hot water any time of the day.

-noise: a bit of street noise when cars pass by the road but very minimal
