After seeing all the ruins in Machupicchu, and Saqsaywaman, all the cathedrals and beautiful architecture, eating everything in site and drinking liters and liters of Cusquena beer, my husband and I went home thinking "I know we should want to go somewhere new every year, but OH THE FOOD IN PERU. Particularly in the restaurant at the Aranwa. My husband had the lamb shish kababs, which he loved so much that he ordered another half way through dinner and finished both. I had the alpaca carpaccio which I ordered again the next day. Our waiter "Surgio" was 5 Michelan stars worth of perfectly hospitable service. We met the chef ( ) who gave me the recipe for the lamb kebabs and the quinoa that we tried. The rooms are beautiful. Heated bathroom tile and towel rack, comfortable bed, tons of down pillows and comforters. Do get the buffet breakfast, it's one of the few good ones.

Notes: I passed out twice due to altitude. Drink the coca tea (located all over the hotel) and take the free oxygen down at the lobby.

We stayed at the hotel for two alternate evenings which was part of our tour package. On the first evening the hotel got the booking incorrect and placed my wife and I in two single rooms. They simple gave us two sets of keys and told us we could use both small rooms. We dined at the restaurant that evening and their cuisine is to say the least shocking. As we run and own a lodge there is a fine line between placing tasteless beautifully decorated food on the table compared to a gourmet cuisine. The chef should be ashamed of himself
On check out they had converted our charges into dollars and when we asked to pay in Soles they reconverted the amount and adjusted the exchanges rate by about 25% in their favour.
On the second evening we had a problem with the air-con system which was running at 28 degrees C. Upon asking them to rectify this intense heat problem, we were simple told not to worry about it.
Breakfast is served in the passageway which is really unpleasant
The rooms are all glitz, stuffy with no windows. Of the 15 hotels we stayed at during our stay this one would be not recommended

We are just back from a memorable ..in many ways ...holiday from Peru . We stayed at the Aranwa Cuzco boutique hotel for 3 nights and were charmed by the hotel , courteous staff and well appointed tho small rooms , and it's great location . Sadly from this very premier hotel we lost a rather large sum of money from our locked safety deposit box in the room !! We brought it to the manager s attention and he made enquiries and said they were unable to pin down any of their staff . He did upgrade our rooms for 1 night but later when I wrote about the incident in the comment book , they deleted it by sticking the pages together ! Childish if not the least ....definitely stay at this hotel but beware putting your money in the deposit in the room . Our passports were safe !

Room Tip: Rooms are small but comfortable ....

Dear Sir;
We express our sincere thanks for taking a few minutes of your time to provide us with valuable insights about your experience with the friendliness and helpfulness of our staff. Also to thank you for the comments about our safes due to which you were informed at the time. It was proved that they are secured with a unique key knowed only to each user and is very difficult for other people to access it. No doubt we understand your discomfort and therefore we express our sincere apologies. We have taken notes of the details mentioned to improve the quality of service we provide every day. Comments like yours are the most important reason to continue to refine and improve our standards of service to all of our visitors. I am from Miami Florida, and have traveled many places and a few different countries. I have stayed in my share of very nice hotels. They has to be one of the most, if not the absolute best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We walked in to be greeted by a few people dressed very professional speaking English to us making us feel so very comfortable. They took our bags and had us sit down while they made us some delicious coca tea. (Better than any coca tea I have previously had) i was in awe looking around at this beautiful hotel with chandeliers and luxurious decor. They showed us to our room which was BEAUTIFUL. the bathroom was worth every penny in itself. The huge jetted jacuzzi tub was run by remote control and was amazing, I vow to buy one for my home after my stay. The shower has 4 spouts two on the wall and two on the ceiling. Everything is granite and the definition of luxury. The room had a huge chandelier and they brought us oxygen tanks to supply us with oxygen when we weren't feeling well. I could go on forever, but if you go to cusco you would be crazy if you stayed anywhere but here. Great location and nothing but IMPRESSED from start to finish. Well done

We have stayed in this hotel twice each time equally as good as the last. Last night we arrived late and were tired and decided not to go out on the town but to stay in the hotel. We had appetizers and desert which were very lovely. When we checked in the staff asked if we needed a wake up call an we told them not hat we had to leave very early the next morning before breakfast was served. They had two breakfast baskets waiting for us at check out. What a lovely way to end out trip and what a way to remember a fantastic hotel.thank you staff

The Arawana Cusco is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of Cusco. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. The hotel's restaurant is also very good. We stay this hotel during trip to Machu Picchu which we booked through International Expeditions ( definitely recommend).
