“Great Hotel -- Highly Recommend It”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2013

We stayed at the Aranwa Hotel in Cusco for three nights and it was more than I could have ever dreamed of. The staff was excellent. Russell Lawler was extremely helpful with answering questions, arranging tours and ensuring that I had a great experience while in Cusco. He personally greeted us when we saw him and it felt like he was an old friend. The hotel accommodations were unbelievable. The bathrooms were even gorgeous with heated marble floors, heated towel racks, jacuzzi and even an American plug for electronics. The beds were so comfortable as well. Very, very clean!! I could go on and on. Thank you so much Aranwa -- we love you.

Room Tip: A room with a balcony is a great way to view the activity in the square.

we were greeted by a friendly staff, which was nice after a long day in machu picchu, 2 hours on a train and another 2 on a bus. The room was nice but very small, there was not enough room to roll the suit case between the bed and the dresser. the bath was very nice, it was larger than the sleeping area with a large tub and heated floors.
3 of the main plazas are within easy walking distance and they all have a wide variety of nice restaurants so we never had a chance to try the restaurant in the hotel.

Room Tip: don't get the room next to stairs. people begin rolling their suit case down the stairs at 5 am...

we stayed 2 nights at this wonderful hotel on our trip to peru on the way to machu pichu.
the room we had was just great. there was heated bathroom floor and a jacuzzi as well as a shower with jets and his and hers basins.
what a luxury and the staff were nice except for the front desk who directed to the wrong chifa resturant where we had the worst chinese food we had ever had on any of our travels.
the breakfast was ok as the pastries and bread were not great.
but overall experience was just great.
thanks for the good care we had .

Room Tip: ask for the room with jacuzzi

This is remarkable hotel....the converted 16th century home of the Dean of the Cathedral, filled with beautiful antiques, lovely courtyards and courteous staff. What I love most.....the heated marble floor in the huge bathroom....the claw-footed bathtub with tons of hot water...free wifi...oxygen available in the lobby....oxgenated rooms to decrease the effects of attitude sickness...location! Location! Location - just a 5 minute walk to the main plaza and wonderful shops. Only thing that slightly dimmed the glow was the outrageous prices in the restaurant. I had a light lunch do to an upset stomach - chicken broth, cup of white rice and tea - cost $28US dollars which I thought was highway robbery.

Room Tip: Any room is fine just don't eat lunch or dinner here!

We stayed at the Aranwa Cusco before and after the Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. It was a very comfortable hotel and quiet given its location just a block or so away from the hustle and bustle of the Plaza De Armas. Loads of great restaurants and most of the main sites of historical interest are just a short walk away.
The hotel was very cooperative in holding our luggage while we were away for the four days of the trek.
Good sized rooms with comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. We had a spa bath in both the rooms we stayed in. Breakfast was excellent quality and served in a sunny spot adjacent to the central courtyard.
One minor annoyance was a wi-fi failure meaning no internet for one day but no big drama really.

This boutique hotel has it all! It is an old Spanish home that has been meticulously updated. The decor is authentic. Each room adds extra oxygen to the system so you do not feel the altitude while you sleep. The bathrooms have heated floors and heated towel racks with large jacuzzi tubs. A real gem!

We found this hotel exceeded our expectations at almost every step.

The Aranwa is a boutique hotel inside a historic building. The rooms are arranged around an inner courtyard that have clever privacy screens in front of each door. The rooms were spacious but the bathrooms were amazing. Multi-head showers, dual sinks, heated floors and an enormous tub.

Oxygen is pumped into the rooms to help you deal with the altitude. Internet is free (unlike luxury hotels which want to charge you), breakfast is included as is baggage storage if your trip to Macchu Pichu via train has restrictions on what bags you can take with you.

The coca tea in the lobby tasted good and the staff were excellent. The hotel is half a block from the Plaza de Armas and you feel safe walking around in the early evening even after dark. If we had an opportunity we would have stayed longer in Cusco and less time in Lima.
