Tambo del Arriero is an excellent boutique hotel. Good location, close to restaurants and most tourist attractions in Cusco. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate any needs at all hours. Breakfast is simple, good, with fresh fruit, enough for a good start. They do prepare breakfast at 4am if you are leaving on a tour.
Excellent choice for your visit to Cusco.

Room Tip: The bigger the room the more difficult to warm it up, remember it can get pretty cold at night in Cu...

Tambo del Arriero Boutique Hotel is very comfortable, clean, architecturally charming, and is conveniently located to everything in Cusco. The staff is very courteous, knowledgeable and extends themselves to the fullest to make your stay pleasant. As a pet-friendly hotel, they welcomed me, Raja the Shih Tzu, with open arms. I stayed with my family in a wonderful large deluxe room with a comfortable queen bed, modern bath facilities, and lots of room for me to run around!. A healthy breakfast is served every morning in their upstairs’ dinning room. We highly recommend this boutique-style hotel for either a short or lengthy stay. In our opinion, stay a least 3-4 days to explore the many interesting sites in Cusco before departing to Machu Picchu.and while acclimatizing to the high altitude..

We stayed for three nights in Cuzco. The hotel is quiet centrally located (walking distance from the main square). good and friendly reception. Cuzco gets cold at night time. but the rooms were cozy and warm. Bathroom was set at high standards. Best breakfast we had during our whole trip through Latam!

I stayed at Tambo del Arriero for 4 nights while at a conference, The staff were very very helpful, friendly, spoke english and mase every effort to assist, including negotiating with taxi drivers, confirming travel arrangements, organising laundry and giving advice about places to eat etc.
The hotel was immactuately clean, the housekeeping staff were polite and adaptable. The hotel is located within short walking distance to the plaza, it was far enough away and on a side street to be quiet at night.
Overall an awesome experience - would definitely stay here again,

Hotel quality is often a subjective experience: sometimes, a hotel is just what you're looking for even if it doesn't tick all the boxes, and sometimes, there's no chemistry even though the place is quite nice objectively, I guess. I thought Tambo del Ariero is really pretty good, even though it might not be to everyone's taste. So here are a few points of what the place is about: it is a converted old property, with a nice patio courtyard and good-sized, clean rooms with hard-wood floors. The bathroom fixtures are nice and modern, service is very reliable and effective, albeit not sycophantic. The free pisco sour on a Saturday and chocolate on other days are a nice touch. Security is good, and I could leave my documents and belongings in the room without worry. Breakfast is excellent; choice is not wide, but there is fresh bread, yoghurt, eggs, fruit and good juice. They can even prepare espresso.

However, some rooms do not have a lot of natural light (I know, as I changed from a double to single room), it sometimes takes a bit of time for the shower to warm up (one time, almost 5 minutes) and free transport from the airport is delivered by someone who is not connected with the hotel, but will try to sell you tours. The location is just outside the immediate city centre, in an older neighbourhood (the kind real estate agents would call 'up and coming') which gives the place a more 'earthly' feel than the more touristic areas. The main squares are just a few blocks away though. Overall, I had a great time here and would stay again for sure.

It's a beatiful hotel, really nicely decorated in an ancient renovated house. A true gem in a lovely city. The staff is very helpful and the morning coffee is the best in town. I'll sure be back soon.

Pros
- Nice and big rooms (lacks better lightning)
- Good and tranquil location (5 minute walk to Plaza de Armas)
- OK breakfeast buffet

Cons
- Expencive ($100-145 in high season)
- At times there is no hot water, and this should be fixed ASAP
- The wifi does not work in every room
- Not very clean bathrooms

All in all as my title say, an OK hotel but too pricey
