My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ninos Hotel for a total of five nights. It is a convenient 10-15 minute walk from the Plaza de Armas in a safe area. They were very flexible with letting us leave a bag of clothes that we didn't want to carry along the Inca Trail.

It wasn't the cheapest option but we chose to stay based on the reviews and we don't regret our decision. The rooms were simple but clean. They were a bit cold in the evenings but they did provide a small heater. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They also all speak English, which for someone like me who hasn't taken Spanish since high school, is very helpful.

The breakfast is not included in the cost but it is very convenient to have the restaurant in the hotel for a quick bite to eat. We ate breakfast there quite a few times and the food was very good!

Not to mention, it's an added bonus the profits go to a great cause.

It certainly feels good that the profits go to a good cause but I wouldn't stay there again. It's expensive for what you get considering that it does not include breakfast. The rooms are basic and just okay. The patio is nice but you can hear the noise from the patio in almost all the rooms. The restaurant is good, especially the fireplace to keep you warm. They do not provide free tea and mate like most places. They also don't offer water bottle refills, even for a price.

We chose this hotel based on the rave reviews but were left a little disappointed.

We used Cusco as our base for a few side trips and to do the Inca trail. We stayed here for a total of 5 nights in two different rooms. In our email communication, the hotel asked if we required an airport transfer. I asked to be picked up and gave them all the flight details, yet when we arrived at the airport we were not met by anyone. After trying to call the hotel multiple times from the airport, we were informed that they in fact do not provide airport transfers, which was a complete surprise to us.

Our first 2-night stay was decent: our double room was quite large but sparse and basic. The rooms are a little chilly but luckily we found 2 heaters in our room. They don't provide any bath mats in the bathroom so the floors get all wet and messy after showering.

On our second stay we booked a quadruple room to share with another couple. It was actually 2 separate rooms with a corridor to a shared bathroom. One of the rooms had a double bed, while the one I stayed in had 2 single beds separated by an awkward wall, making it cramped and difficult to walk through. This room was also lacking in the basic amenities we had in our original room: heater, clothes hangers, table/chair, and wastebasket. The price of the quadruple was almost the same as 2 individual double rooms so there was really no advantage since we were 4 people sharing a single bathroom. During this stay we encountered an incredible amount of noise in the early mornings (5-6am) from staff talking extremely loudly to construction in the courtyard right outside our rooms. The wifi was also not working for 2 days and even after inquiring various staff members, they did not seem to be responsive in trying to fix it for the guests.

The location is a bit of a walk from the main plaza. It's only about 15 minutes on foot, but it's an uninteresting walk. I'd recommend staying around San Blas instead, which is a more interesting and lively neighbourhood.

Service was a little hit or miss. The level of English varied greatly between different front desk staff. A couple of the staff were very attentive and helpful and were able to help us organize bus tickets and early taxis, but there were others who were less competent.

I did enjoy the cafe, which has a fireplace so it's very warm and cosy. Their homemade cookies and carrot cakes were quite delicious.

Overall, the hotel is not bad, but I had higher expectations based on all of the positive reviews I've read.

COLD! Especially the floor. Very nice and cozy rooms, clearly design is important. Streat outside is doggy so take a taxi at night, day time you walk to the center in 15-20 min. You hear everything from the inner court yard. Nice restaurant and lovely breakfast. Love that your helping kids by stating at Ninos.

After reading all the good reviews my expectations were very high, however I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. After or first night we complained but the room was not cleaned. Yes, the girl has nice architecture but I would prefer aclean room. Moreover the toilet was liking water and there was very bad smell every time we had a shower.

The Ninos Hotel, Calle Fierro, Cusco, Peru, came to our attention when booking our vacation. The hotel profits go to running an orphanage / school for under privileged children. Once we read that, if was enough for us to book knowing part of our dollars were helping these kids.
You arrive at the hotel, down a very narrow one way street, at a large blue wooden gateway, we did not know what to expect so we rang the bell and were greeted by the clerk. Once inside it was WOW, a lovely Spanish Hacienda style two story hotel with large courtyard.
We stayed three nights and would have liked to stay longer. The staff we so friendly, the rooms were simple but spotless. The restaurant served simple but very filling meals with great service.
On our trip around South America, we stayed from 3 stars to 5 star and this was the most memorable, well done guys..

Love the Ninos hotel! They were quick to respond by email and we had a great room on the 2nd floor in the corner. We really liked everything about the hotel, the room was big, clean and modern, bed was super comfy, food in the restaurant was delicious (we ate several meals there), staff was friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere was really nice. It was nice to eat breakfast in the little sunny courtyard.
Definitely recommend this place and we thought it was good value too!
A bonus was the strong wifi which worked so well in our room that we could watch a film on YouTube, we were not able to do that in most other places we stayed!
