Quinua Villa Boutique

Quinua Villa Boutique is an inspired, skillfully crafted labor of love. The proprietor, Cristiano, is an Italian with a master's degree in Andean history from the University of North Carolina. During his time conducting research for his thesis in Cusco he fell in love with the city, and five years later Quinua was born. Cristiano honored the centuries-old traditions of craftsmanship and stone masonry in his construction. In fact there are original Inca walls throughout the compact complex which has four rooms currently completed ( a fifth should be ready in the near future).

What Quinua offers are self-sufficient apartments complete with fully appointed kitchens, fireplaces, hot water, and in one case a beautiful sauna! When you stay here you just have to buy some groceries and you are set. Each of the apartments has a theme and is decorated both cleverly and gorgeously. The location of Quinua in the upper regions of the San Blas neighborhood provides it with an astonishing view encompassing the ruins of Saqsaywaman all the way to the Apu of Ausangate.

Quinua is about a ten minute walk from the bustling center of town, but it feels like a sanctuary in comparison. There is wifi, cable television, and central heating (a true rarity in Cusco).

When we return to Cusco there is no question where we will stay. Quinua is like a home away from home (just a lot nicer than our home in Maine!).

Based on our stays in many great and less great hotels, appartments and other accommodations on different continents, as well as after hours of internet research, visiting among others all TripAdvisor's top rated hotel sites in Cusco, and after 2 stays in 2 other hotels and visiting different apartments in the city, and eventually, after a month and a half stay at Quinua Villa Boutique in 3 of their 5 appartments, we can definitely say this place is a must go and stay for anybody who is looking for elegance, design, cosiness, a wonderfull view and the confort of an appartment or accommodation that has it all. We stood there in July and August 2010 with our little girl and enjoyed every minute of our stay: the modern and at the same time warm design integrating Peruvian ancient and present artpieces or decoration elements, the woodfireplace - one in each appartment, the tastefull mixture of wood, terra cotta, stone and fabrics of the bedspreads and curtains a.o., the nice exterior and interior balconies, the great, simple but stylish furniture, flatscreen tv's, the perfectly well functioning heating system and equipments, the kitchens with all you need and the array of included or complementary services we took advantage of (cleaning, dish-washing, laundry, wine celllar etc.) all contributed to our great experience. Congratulations to Cristiano, the owner, who built this boutique villa hotel from scratch and achevied a beautifull result. And thank you to his very nice, helpfull and friendly staff.

Quinoa Villa offers an incredible view of Cusco to its customer which certainly adds to the serene atmosphere in these apartments. Decorated with style, the kitchen is well equiped and gave us the luxury of cooking whatever we wanted. Plus, the included breakfast is really good. All the employees were welcoming, kind and always ready to be helpfull to the customers. Quinoa apartments offered us a home more than a room and made our vacation in Cusco a success.

Quinua was wonderful. The suites were beautiful and comfortable. Every detail was attended to and maintained. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and they accommodate to your schedule. We had a great time in Cusco and the Sacred Valley. I highly recommend staying at Quinua Villa Boutique.

Cusco's real hidden treasure.
From the moment you arrive at Quinua, you know you are in Cusco. Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by a genuine Inka wall, and to our surprise this feature wall was the backdrop of our bedroom. We slept in the presence of a real Inca wall, what an honor.

The apartments themselves are all stunning, it appears each one represents a different era of the Peruvian history. Entering each apartment is like entering a museum, every item in the apartment serves a purpose, to immerse you in the history that belongs to Peru.

The details are incredible, from the colours, to the furniture to the decor, fully functioning kitchen with all the comforts of your own home.
It was comforting to be able to use the kitchen to prepare a few special dinners, open a bottle of wine and drink from wine glasses (from our kitchen), with a stunning view of the city, from our very own apartment.

The staff are incredible, friendly, helpful and always about. We needed instructions on how to use the coffee maker - yes there is a coffee maker so you can brew your own coffee!- and they were there in a flash.
All in all our experience was all the more special BECAUSE of our stay at Quinua, and the wonderful staff, I couldn't recommend it more.

This apartment hotel was enchanting. Each two story apartment is beautifully decorated in different Inca themes. Relics of the Inca ruin excavated on site were in display cases. Our apartment was immaculate. Our breakfast, delivered to us, was delicious. The views over the city were mesmerizing. The only downside, not for us because we liked living in San Blas, was that one most walk up the San Blas hill.
