Clean and neat. Nice people and always willing to help. Quiet place to rest after a visit to Machu Picchu and Valle sagrado. You have to be prepared for a little climbing to get there but it's very Cousy

Staying at Quinua Boutique Villa Lodging made our time in Cusco all the better. We stayed twice ( with a trip to Machu Pichu in between, and so we experienced 2 different rooms. Both were lovely, clean and so comfortable. The staff took care of everything and were helpful and kind. The B&B is on an Inka site and you are actually sleeping on terraced slops. If you happen to have a view in your room - it overlooks all of Cusco, fabulous. I highly recommend staying here.

A review of Quinua Villa Boutique really has to be done in separate sections:

1) Staff - 5 stars. Everyone we met was wonderful and could not be more helpful. We arrived late in the evening from Machu Picchu, and I had stupidly left my cell phone in the taxi. The ladies immediately helped me track down the driver who returned the phone within the hour. The hotel owner also runs a travel agency, so they can arrange for drivers and tours of all the nearby sites. It was wonderful to have our breakfast brought to our room everyday and the ladies did a great job cleaning our room every day.

2) Room - 4 stars. We had the 2-level apartment with a kitchen and sleeping area downstairs. It's very nicely decorated and had a lovely view of the city. The stairs to the bedroom is very steep, so if you don't like stairs, don't get this room. My only complaint is the bed covering (a down duvet) was very very hot, and there was no way to change it (ie, with another blanket).

3) Location - 2 to 3 stars. The San Blas neighborhood is charming, but requires a BIG climb. Quinua is about as high as you can go, and to get to the hotel itself requires another step set of stairs from the street. These stairs were blocked with garbage when we first arrived, and then by bags of construction material during our 4-day stay. The street, Tantapata, was also quite torn up while we were there, so in general, I would definitely NOT recommend the location.

Given all these factors, it's hard to have just one rating for the hotel. Since I tend to believe location is the most important factor, will go with 3 stars.

Bed and breakfast located in a historic site. They have an original Inca wall!
Actually this is a small apartment, with a full kitchen.
You may cook if you want.
Beautiful, well located, with a very nice staff.
I recommend and would come back!

Room Tip: Some rooms have sauna, but all the rooms are excelent

Quinua Villa Boutique hotel was fantastic in every way. We stayed 3 nites in Cusco, acclimating for our trek to Machu Picchu, & 1 nite on the return. We can't say enough regarding how wonderful the Quinua was. The apartment, w/ a fireplace that we used, to breakfast, to the service, to the location, you name it. It was above & beyond what one would expect given the very reasonable price. Yolanda is the manager & she is wonderful, going out of her way to provide advice & directions, make dinner suggestions/reservations, set up your day trips, etc.

A word of warning regarding the elevation & stairs to climb. The Quinua in the San Blas district of Cusco & is located on a rise a few blocks above Plaza de Armas. Most of the walk is on sloped streets so the climb is gradual. However the last short stretch to the hotel does include stairs. The taxi can only get so close to the hotel. The rest is by foot. Take your time climbing them & you'll be fine. It's unlikely you'll have to lug your bags. The hotel staff did that for us.

Plaza de Armas is where it's all happening for the tourists. It's a nice plaza situated in front of La Catedral. The small side streets from the Quinua to the plaza are more interesting, w/ small shops (touristy but necessary), restaurants, etc. We really enjoyed the walk back & forth from the hotel.

The owner of the Quinua also owns a tour company. We booked 3 private tours w/ them. While a bit costly, it was well worth it. 2 half day excursions (city tour; Maras & salt mines) & 1 full day thru the Sacred Valley. We had a different guide each day, all local & two were indigenous. We would highly recommend the Quinua's tour group.

Special note for food - go w/ Yolanda's recommendations. PachaPapa is excellent for lunch or dinner. Jack's is a must for espresso drinks & a variety of meals/snacks/etc. We also ate at Uchu, a brassos (braised/skewered meat or fish) style menu. The decor is nothing to write home about but our dinner was excellent.

We would certainly stay again at the Quinua if we were to ever return to Cusco.

Room Tip: Smaller rooms on the ground level are dark but less expensive. Upper rooms are the opposite, bright...

We spent five days in Cristiano's lovely B&B. We couldn't have had a better place to stay. The location was up in the hills, but everything was within walking distance. The room and everything was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was delicious every morning, and the staff were friendly and professional. We also used their travel service and were beyond pleased with it. There is no better way to see the Sacred Valley and Cusco than with the fantastic and knowledgeable guides from their partner tour company. We highly recommend private tours, as they are a great deal and are absolutely worth the extra money. Their driver, Ruben, is also amazing. He safely delivered us to every site, and stopped so my mother-in-law could take pictures along the way. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better trip or place to stay.

My family and I stayed at the Quinua Boutique Hotel during the first week of August. What a beautiful property. I can not speak highly enough of the property and the unique decorations. If we ever return to Cusco, I would definitely stay here.

The breakfasts were yummy and plentiful and there is always lots of Cocoa tea to take care of the altitude sickness. They bring breakfast to your door at the time you request, with homemade breads and delicious jams. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home and happy.

I would highly suggest that you stay in this property, you might pay a little more, but it is worth it. It is also located in the center of San Blas, and close to the Plaza de Armas. Don't spend all of your time at the Plaza de Armas, it can be a tourist trap. Get to know San Blas, there are so many unique shops and restaurants that you won't be disappointed.

Cristiano and his staff went out of their way to make our stay extremely pleasant. They even arranged our trip to Machu Pichu in the high season. Although we encountered a communication issue with our travel agent, Cristiano and Yolanda (his partner) jumped right in and cleared it up. We stayed 4 nights and we would have stayed longer, if there had been space.

I promise you won't be disappointed. This was the absolutely one of best places we stayed in Peru. Go ahead and Do it! We are a family of 5, they added extra beds so we all stayed in one apartment. I thought this was very thoughtful. Cristiano is a student of history, so he has gone out of his way to decorate each apartment in a unique manner with artifacts discovered when they did the renovations. I loved this apartment-hotel with its full kitchen and basket of cooking essentials. It has a homey feel in the middle of busy Cusco, and the location can't be beat. It also has lots of wall heaters and fireplaces, a true luxury in Peru. When I return to Cusco, I will definitely stay with Cristiano and Yolanda. I love the space and the eclectic decorations.

Room Tip: The higher rooms provide beautiful views of Cusco. My favorite, although not located upstairs was th...
