“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

From the time we stepped into this cute boutique we were impressed. Staff were extremely hospitable and helpful. We stayed here on the last night of a 4 week trip and was the perfect choice to unwind and enjoy the comforts of a home. As we were exhausted there was a number of options for food including a great selection in the apartment, to having food delivered from a restaraunt. The sauna was great to ease our tired muscles! Highly recommend and you will not be dissappointed!

My wife and I got the chance to spend our last night at Quinua Villa in the Apartment Suite. I wanted a special place for our final night in Peru and it did not disappoint. Not only was it very spacious but it had great charm to it. Llama chairs and Inca tribes carved in the wood panels leading down the stairs added to the Peruvian feel. The bathroom was very modern with a nice indoor garden bed AND our own private sauna. The bedroom was very nicely decorated with an Inca stone headboard and Llamas crossing the bridge above. It had very fun moon and stars dressers and bedside tables that added to it's theme.
We were only a 15 minute walk to the Plaza with many fun shops along the way.
We were able to have a nice fire built for us when we returned and enjoyed a meal together while sitting in the warm glow. The view of Cusco was breathtaking from the 2nd story balcony.
Last, the staff was fantastic. They carried all our heavy luggage. They were so kind and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They brought breakfast for us the morning of our checkout for us to eat in our own privacy in the spacious kitchen at the table. The owner was so wonderful and made sure we got to the airport himself! I can not say enough great things about Quinua Villa. We will always remember this treasure.
Such a classy place with true cultural taste.

The room / suite was really spacious, clean and cosy. The staff were really accommodating. The breakfast was very good and staff even facilitated a very early breakfast in our room the day we started the Inca trail. One small issue is that it's a bit tricky to find so pay close attention to the map they provide when you book!

We loved this small hotel with it's quirky touches. The staff were delightful, extremely helpful and we felt like friends by the time we left. They were full of helpful suggestions and nothing was too much trouble, for example our early departure breakfast and then driving us to the airport. We would definitely return. Friends stayed at expensive hotels but we found this place so much more appealing.

We stayed at Quinua Villa Boutique Hotel for four nights during our stay in Cusco in December and over the Christmas period. The location is in San Blas, convenient enough to walk everywhere whilst being slightly away from the main square to avoid the noise. We loved the location!

Our apartment was the Inka Wasi and it was absolutely perfect, the decoration was beautiful and alot of thought had been put into the design of the apartment with significant attention to detail! Spacious with great rustic decor and providing all the amenities required. We arrived at the hotel to find a spread of different teas laid out along with coca leaves to assist with the altitude. The bathroom had its own sauna and was very very spacious as was the living area, dining area and kitchen. We found all the staff to be incredibly helpful and they were always very very pleasant and available at all times. We undertook the Inca trail during our stay here and left our bags at the hotel, upon our return all our bags were already placed in our apartment, making it very convenient and reducing the need of checking in again at night.

We absolutely loved having the convenience of our own sauna in the apartment, it was divine especially after our long hike - something we were both deifnitely looking forward to!

The breakfasts served in the apartment at our own time and convenience were delicious and the staff did everything they could to ensure your stay was perfect!

Quina Villa Boutique and the staff who work there ensure a fantastic stay in Cusco, we would definitely stay at this hotel again. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Quinua Villa Boutique was simply outstanding, I cannot recommend this place highly enough! We had Casa Garcilazo (the colonial apartment) for 3 nights and Inka Wasi for 1 night. Both apartments were beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. It is evident that a lot of thought and effort went into designing and decorating each apartment - so many unique pieces of furniture, beautiful bed linens, even the kitchens in both apartments were beautiful! Casa Garcilazo had a corner balcony with a breathtaking view over the city, especially at night. Inka Wasi was more luxurious, with a bigger bedroom and a sauna in the bathroom. Both apartments had a fully equipped kitchen and a wood fireplace. We got the staff to light us a fire one evening. Breakfast is served in the apartment, at exactly the time that you ask for it. We had freshly baked bread, ham, cheese, eggs to order, fruits and coffee - everything was delicious!
The location of the hotel is great, San Blas is a quaint little neighbourhood, lots of fun to walk around in. Many good restaurants in the area, both for Peruvian food, and surprisingly, pizza! The hotel is on a narrow street that is only reachable on foot, so taxis stop on the street below and you have to climb a few, somewhat steep stairs to get to the hotel. But most of San Blas is like that, so you get used to it very quickly. The main square in Cusco, Plaza de Armas, is a short 5-7 min walk downhill, and you can get a taxi back up for 4 soles.
The ladies at the reception were really really nice, always smiling and ready to help. They arranged for taxis for us several times, and they also arranged for an excellent guide for us to tour the ruins at Pisac and Ollantaytambo. It was a pleasure interacting with them because they genuinely seemed eager to help and interested in making our stay enjoyable.
All in all - a wonderful experience, we would visit Cusco again just to stay at Quinua Villa Boutique!

We spent 4 nights in the Casa Garcilazo apartment.
We were unable to get a flight from Arequipa so had to take the overnight luxury bus which was great value and very comfortable, we found it hard to sleep but we seemed like the only ones! The hotel would not send a taxi (they offer a shuttle to and from airport) but offered to reimburse us s10. We booked online indicating that this stay was a celebratory event and they offered to provide sparling wine and because we had booked on an online special offer also included was a load of wood for the fire. Their emails clearly stated that they took Visa and MasterCard, so we took only one credit card with us (M/C).
Now before the groans we have to say that the apartment was lovely, great views, clean and with a nicely appointed kitchen. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water and some nice little touches like a medical kit and slippers in the closet. There was water and drinks in the fridge plus a box of groceries in the suite if you want, a little pricey but saves a walk. The wifi was spotty and often went down but it seemed that this was common in the area. Breakfast was served in the apartment and was really substantial, you had to remember to order the day before but there seemed to be no restriction on what you ordered, hot bread, nice big bowls of fruit salad, cheese and olives - very very good, although it means you do not meet fellow travellers you can eat in your pj's.
Couple of things that we did not understand was San Blas is quite the hike from central Cusco, seriously all uphill ... Which by day 3 was fine but first day at altitude left us quite out of breath, so you need to be reasonably fit. San Blas is really interesting and there seemed to be something to investigate down every little cobbled street, and for the most part we felt safe. Only one day were we really concerned about safety and local people were there to intervene, the next night there was a security guard in the area. There are some pretty reasonable places to eat along with the expensive ones. We had a great breakfast morning before we booked in at Pachpapa in the square but found it to be a little expensive and not that great for a dinner reservation, they will bring in food to the apartment for a s.10 charge.
The walk down to the main square in Cusco takes a good 20 minutes past lots of shops and galleries, Cusco really is retail sensory overload and it does seem like all the same stuff, we never did get a picture with the baby llama with the bonnet on though lol. Even though this city operates at a chaotic place this hotel meant that you could stay out of all of the major hubbub which is restful.
Now for the moans, the hotel would did not honour the refund for the initial taxi, nor did the take MasterCard really preferring cash, thankfully we found this out in time to go to the bank, but it was a hassle just before we left. We ordered the wood for a cosy romantic night and it did not happen nor did the wine ever materialize, they just offered a 'sorry' next day. We also asked for some advice about local attractions and the girls could not help, their English was limited - reading other reviews maybe we were unlucky? But they did not have/offer any pamphlets or brochures to make up for the lack of knowledge.
To their credit we left a couple of garments in the closet which they offered to post on, we have not received them yet but it was nice that they thought to contact us.
This is an interesting B&B and for the most part we would recommend, just think if you are prepared for the uphill walk, but in our opinion the views make it worthwhile and visit the information centre in town for help. It's perfect for honeymooners and those just wanting to kick back.

Room Tip: All of the apartments looked very nice.
